That would make more sense. I'd love to see a 42 with 860's

I agree but it would HAVE to be staggered. I know Brian and Pat are going to come in here and say “the hull was designed for side by side applications, the staggered setup doesn’t gain anything, etc....” but the reality is that people want the staggered setup because of the room it gives you in the engine bay, the wow factor and the rooster tail. Honestly I probably would’ve never sold my 37 if it was a staggered boat. You think people put big rims and low profile tires on their cars because it improves the grip of the vehicle!??!? No, it’s because it looks good and that’s what sells most people is curb appeal.

I think there is great room in my 37' with the side by side plus it handles better at the dock.

Too me if it doesn’t have dry pipes and throw a roost then you might as well have egg eaters 🤷*♂️

I'm probably way off base but I'd think that a 42 might have to be staggered to get the COG right. I LOVED my 37! Hoping to own another in the near future.

A 42 Fountain and a 37 AT are basically the same size boat. The 42 fountain being staggered has no speed advantage over the AT. It seems that most 42 Fountains have a real world speed of 83-85, the AT 84-86, with both running 32 bravo props and 525 EFI engines. I'd rather have more room in the cockpit, I spend very little time hanging out in my engine compartment.

Are you sure about that? I purchased a 1998 42' Fountain before I purchased my 37 (boat wasn't in the shape I thought and full refund was given back) I've tied up to plenty of 42' Fountains and they are not the same size boat, the Fountain has another 3'-4'. My 37' is the same length as a 1990 38' Fountain straight bottom. I might have the pic laying around.

Yup, 42 Fountain has 2' of swim platform and 2' of beak included in that 42'. I know it's an old subject, but an AT doesn't include the platform or a have a beak, if they did you would have a 41' boat. Both weight right around 10K.

Anybody know anything about the 37 in the classifieds with 6's? Kids and I were watching the coverage from 2018 FPC bimini run that went to marathon and noticed Pat running the red 37, sexy boat.

One of the fastest boats ever vs a boat that needs bottom mods with over 600hp. Put down the pipe.
