Mark, I say you keep that one.

Anybody lookat Jass's purple seats in his 37 on this thread? I wonder if it was real hot, maybe he'll show up and see it . Looks to me like it would be outa controll hot in the sun:eek:

Sydwayz 03-12-2008 09:35 PM

The boat will run 100mph, but it has never really been dialed in for speed. The previous owner would not have known what to do with it at that speed.

The backpad on ours gets cookin hot, we have to cover it with towels to hang out on it.

Stormrider 03-12-2008 10:07 PM

A bit off topic, but would you AT consider building a 33 w/ a 3man bolster center steer, rear bench, cabin delete?
Sorry, the 1st few pics of this thread got me thinking.

cosmic12 03-12-2008 10:07 PM

I had a 31 Chapperal Villian years ago that had a very lite gray and it would get so hot it got real soft and almost felt like it was melting. I hated that boat for that, always had to have it all covered.

You need to go talk to Pat I would be willing to guess that he would. Why not bolsters in the rear also? He just did a 37 like that.

Now that is a great idea, I'd like to see that, 525's w/no cabin:cool-smiley-011: I've been in Remedy at 91 MPH full of fuel and 4 guys in it on Glass smooth water. And a maxed out cabin.. no less

Ya that would be a rocket. But 6 bolsters center steer no cabin or any extras at all. Oh boy let the fun roll:evilb:

With the side entry cabin a center steer should be no problem.

Absolutely. That would be a nice little poker run rocket. We like doing cool & custom stuff.

We'd have do come up with something for the controls, as we don't put them on the dash; but that's a minor detail.

Not much when I bought it. The name is Extreme Energy. I'm not sure where the excessive came from but I will say my jaw dropped when I saw this thread yesterday as I thought there was a new one coming out with that name.
I have spent countless hours and more than a few thousand dollars getting this boat back to where it should be. I'm still not done, and may never be, but she shows a whole lot better today than it did.

cosmic12 03-13-2008 03:49 PM

Its never DONE :p But it sure looks good now.:D

Sorry, been away for a few days.
3man, center stee, no side entry, just duck under the dash.
No cabin. Rear bench for freinds and family, not everyone wants to stand, and not always running balls to the wall.
Was thinking a 28, cuz i dont want a big boat, but i like the looks of the 33 much better. Not sure if cost would be much more over a 28w/ twins, since its only a bit more glass and resin involved, no difference in rigging.

What power?

Stormrider 03-17-2008 12:03 PM

Brian, this is a couple of years out, not ready to pull any triggers.
For power in a smaller boat i was considering 475hp sbc's w/ closed cooling. In a 33 I could do the same or go w/ 496s.
I'm not looking for Hi HP w/ engine problems, nor looking for drive problems or exotic drives.
Just a boat i can enjoy ripping in by myself, or bringing some friends out on for an easy joy ride.

Yep, all is totally doable. In a couple of years, who knows what the engine packages may be?

Just keep in mind, that the AT 33 Evolution is a slightly smaller version of the 37 Excess. (It's almost exactly a 9/10s version of the 37.) It's not a bigger version of the AT 28 Savage.

btw, a dash set up like this would work.
maybe in a 33 you could stagger sbc's w/o moving the rear bench???

lol, ya know... it was the closest picture at hand.
btw, not many companies that i know of would be willing to build a boat like i'm asking.

boatfreak 03-17-2008 02:14 PM

I've said it before and I'll say it again Raylar has the setup in his 550 smallblocks. They are light weight and bravo xr friendly. I know I know "resale" but if all you are worried about is a fun, wellbuilt and reliable rocket, that is still family friendly, that's the ticket.

Stormrider 03-17-2008 03:10 PM

yes, but at 25k a piece, there may be a better way for ME.
I think a pr of 475hp sbc in a set up like i'd want, you'd be close to 90mph. A cruise of 65 would be very nice!
btw, am i way off on the speeds? how are the 33s running?

I also think keeping the HP under 1000 combined may help on the insurance.

R Addiction 03-17-2008 05:38 PM

I'll take this one Steve...Stormrider, with a bone stock pair of 525's w/Bravo XR's swinging some secret formula props 91 MPH and climbin'!! This with 4 guys on board and a full tank of fuel on glass smooth rivah water!! We had to back 'er down or we'd have ended up on Jethros back porch:D
