Rich, you have an amazing new boat, plagued with a few very stubborn gremlins. It happens. I think very highly of Active Thunder, and hope they are able to take care of the issues. Those engine hatch rams have to go too.

Check the rubberized seal around the hatches, make sure they are glued down and relatively even around the hatch, if not use some Gorilla Glue to seal, this is what I did with mine and it worked. The beauty is you have the new deck vs old deck, which basically resolves this problem. As to the motors, they are under warranty, get your dealer to check them out.

BTW nice looking boat, love the paint, good luck, :drink: Jeff

Its a hatch not the boat hull, big difference......Hey Doc mine leaked a little too, there was not enough sealant between the hatch and hull, take out the screws and cut away the hatch from the top deck, clean the surface, and apply new 5200 sealant and screw back into place, one problem solved.

Cant help you with the motors problems, thats why I kept my HP500 CARB. motors.

Got your message this weekend tried to call you back but my cell phone was out, we went to the Baltimore Harbor for the weekend.
Next year I have too hook up with you and go to SML,,, I have a place up there and just been using the boat too much to head that way alot.

Rich,
Get a tube of clear 100% pure silicone and put a small bead around the aluminum flange where it meets the deck. That should cure it. Otherwise give it back to Frank and he will take care of it.

The engines seem to all run rich. You might call one of the companies that dial in ECM for some fine-tuning advice.
Pat.

PAT thanks for the ideas i just got off the phone with merc since i'm a dealer my merc rep can recalibrate the ecus'. the hatch has already been caulked around the metal rim but still leaks. JAMES nice to hear from you.the hatch is a job in it self so i'll wait until barney paints the boat and puts 6 coats of clear on it for that shine and let him take the hatch off. JASS thanks i think PAT did a good job with the paint i'm just going to make the eye of the storm look 3D and give it a better shine hopefully less waxing i wax it every week or so. PAT i think i've heard more people say what a good looking boat than anyother boat i've ever owned.thanks pat

Docmanrich, you mentioned "Barney" in your post and I saw you were from Lake Anna, Barney painted my Harley a couple of years ago, Tell him I said Hi. Very talented, My bike won just about every show we put it into.

Which hatch is leaking and can you actually see it dripping?

Pat.

The first hatch is dripping around it and it also runs down the wall on the head over the microwave.the hatch up front has water in all th top screw holes. when i took them out i seen it and put some life caulk in them then screwed them back in and wiped of the excess caulk.i closed the hatch and couldn't see where it was sealing proparly down on the rim and the weather seal so for now i'm going to install another piece of weather stripping on the rim of the hatch so it will be under the black weather stripping to see what happens until my carrie cover gets here.you can see there stitching is yellow from the water and i guess there is foam under the leather on the ceiling.thanks for the fast responce pat.rich

Great looking paint job. Every new boat has a few little gremlins, remember in the world of custom boat builders these problems are next to nothing. Good luck with your new ride.

I was suprised at all the water in that boat when I test drove it. The hatch appeared to be sealed well, but it looked like the deck was slightly skewed where the hatch was, which looked like the hatch was askew. Could that be the problem???

The 525 in my fountian will leak about a quart or two till the rear main blew out last weekend. Ran fine at lake anna then went to the river and blew oil over the exhaust. So off to the marina to get fixed, the fuel must be common for all of them mine is doing the same thing. Rich if you are a mercury dealer then I need to get with you about my ecu if I keep the boat.

Re: troubled 37

There has been a service bulletin on the 525's from Mercury on the rich condition of the engine with black soot on the transom's and I think that may be where your raw fuel out the exhaust is coming from. YOu can carry this into a Mercury dealer and have the engine reprogrammed to eliminate this condition. I have 525's and I have this problem with the rich condition but no oil usage problems. That is way excessive on your boat and Mercury should take care of it under warranty.

Terry give me a call at the marina 540-895-5065.my merc rep is having me change the valve seals to cut down on the amount of oil it's using but my mechanic was reading in the service manual and it says its not uncommen to use 1 qt. every 2-4 hrs. of use.merc rep is also reprogramming my ecu's to get rid of the soot problem.cell #540-226-2814.
