new a.o. owner

my friend just purchased an 04 3100 and have a few questions.
1- do all of these porpus from 70-90?
he has imco stand offs and extreme drives with hydromotive p-5 props.
2- is it better to turn them in or out? right now they're out.
thanks

Re: new a.o. owner

first who is your friend, and which boat did he buy ...
all true tunnels porpoise in some speed range, so yes.
ALWAYS TURN THEM OUT!!! they are much safer this way and handle much better.

lil things like trim pumps not running same speed, hose came off, just little things. gotta say, the guys at cumberland are awesome. all the parts i needed were shipped right out and i ALWAYS got a "heads up" call and a follow up call. randy if you look on here, great crew working with you!

Re: new a.o. owner

I have ridden in alot of 3100's and 2600's. The 3100 should have a small range on Porposing in flat water. You should see no bouncing in the rough though. Be sure to turn those props in. The 3100 tends to be sensetive to certain props. Try to get hold of ED he could give you some advice.

Re: new a.o. owner

always turn them out... that is from ED.
he will also say that he likes mercury bravo 4 blades.

Cliff....where would you say is the threshold of triple digits speeds....... power wise in an 26 AO NSX? In other words how much power too go 100mph/gps?

chromecat 10-13-2005 10:07 PM

Re: new a.o. owner

I can field that.... 650-700 hp will get you to solid 100 mph speeds .

well guy's i can say the problems are greater and far from solved. but before i go giving all the facts i only think it fair to allow all parties involved to make things right before having the whole forum know the details.
don, thanks for the info we'll see if it helps...

Re: new a.o. owner

well, after giving all parties involved ample time and a wide choice of solutions they have chosen to ignore the problem. i guess it's hard to sell " over 100 million dollars " worth of boats and still keep track of the 20k dollar mistakes. it's totally amazing how different you get treated from one coast to the other. dont be blinded by the fancy ads and cool pix. i did and my new boat still sits waiting to be repaired all due to honesty.....

seanv- Elaborate your problem for us. Others may have the problem as well and dont know it. Or maybe they have and already have solved the problem/s and can help get yours addressed.

Re: new a.o. owner

sean,
hope you don't mind me putting my 2 cents in here.

born,

it is a problem with a 3rd party so to speak... the dealer that he bought his boat from was a little misleading about some things... btw, it wasn't purchased from any of us at AO.

Re: new a.o. owner

Thanks for clarifying Don. Wasnt sure if it was a belated Scott problem or what.

seanv 11-24-2005 09:19 PM

Re: new a.o. owner

OH NO! the guys from a.o. have been great and have helped my learn the truth about my boat.if you look on the general discusion forum under " what a deal" you can see more info.
thanks don, that wasnt intended to make you guys look bad.
and burn, kinda extends from the scott era but that can be fixed.

chromecat 11-24-2005 10:43 PM

Re: new a.o. owner

i didn't think it made us look bad... I just didn't want to overstep anything by telling my side of your story...
