Re: slow hatch

it probably still has the stock hydraulic system installed with wet rams and a pump... these are very slow... reliable.. but slow.. they can be changed to electric which would speed things up if he'd like.

I own a 1997 Powerquest and have the same issue. From what I've been told it has to do with the wiring of the boat. You can purchase a replay tshould solve the problem or simply purchase a whole new ram.

Re: slow hatch

With an electric hatch actuator you need to supply ample power directley from the battery!! This can be done with relays that can be purchased from Trick, etc. I used starter relays, and went from haveing to help it up by hand while someone else pushed the button to having it go up in about 3 seconds, and my hatch is at least 150#'s (38 powerquest)
The biggest problem is that the are using the power supplied to the dash of the boat to run everything, and the wire size is not ample. Use the existing switch to opperate the realys, with power directly from the batery!!
