how they shoulda been done
well i was never very happy with the way this thing was rigged so while the engines were getting all the work done i ground the bilge smooth, re-geled, re-rigged and made a new boat out of this '04 ao. cant wait to hit the water n see what the new numbers are.
here's where the pix are.. http://riverdavesplace.com/forums/sh...d=1#post292489 |
Its alot of work but the finished product is well worth it . I did the same on my old AO and would not do it again. Looks good.
Very nice work. Super clean. Nice attention to detail. Question: Hatch doors on the backside of the interior/engine compartment bulkhead, what are they for? Access to the fuel tank equipment?
Yep. Mine has the doors as well. You can see the entire top of the tanks, sending units and shut off valves to the tanks.
Was capacity is each tank?
52 gallons per side. I talked to somone a couple weekends ago that said their awesome's were 55 gallons per side.
sean it's beautful!! Got any numbers yet? I know you'll have a great time over the 4th.
thank you guys!
well takin it easy for a bit to get re-aquainted with the boat. i did run it up to 43-4500rpms and was at 107mph i was able to hold that speed with 39-4000r's i still have 2000r's left:eek: if i ever have the engines out im redoing it again. it looks good but still not good enough. because i did it i see every mistake and its driving me baty. i still cant get over the fact that i set the trim out a smidge and leave it alone. she gets on plane very easy (never exceed 3000rpm including blowout) and at speed travels flat and fast. my com unit goofed so im getting another and i have to figure the scoops out. seems during the re-rig and such we measured wrong and the scoops hit the arrestors. today i did some more ziptie and insu-holder installs to clean up some loose stuff. if i get some energy maybe attack the cracks and imperfections all over the hull ugh.. dont know why i cant post a pic here but i'll work on it. more to come |
