moving to a -2 lower you have lost some leverage to carry the bow, I went through this with my boat, this can be corrected with prop tweaking

that would be great, where do you run your boat?

Mostly on the Chain

so what was the conclusion on set up??

what are the thoughts of -2 x with ITS system set back 7 inches? What props would you guys all suggest and why?

I have had 5 3100's ranging in power btwn them all. Most all of the boats porpoise between 75 and 90mph then work through it to a smooth run. I have not tried merc ITS and -2 all in one package so don't know what to expect? I am also going to move the motors 12 inches forward (or is at least the plan) with only about 600hp to 650hp a piece.

Thoughts or experiences on this?

Thanks in advance!

If you have not purchased your Merc ITS transoms yet, look on the OSO classified. Bob Leach is selling some for a smoking deal. I was thinking of going that route, and the best price BAM quoted me was 9995.00 Add to that the 5" Ziegler extension box (pricey piece) and you have a small investment in your outdrives. I am already committed to go with the IMCO boxes and use my existing Bravo transoms and IMCO steering system-----------but, if I wasn't, I would jump on the ITS system and sell my bravo transoms and IMCO steering system.

Thanks for the input ROTAX.......... appreciate the help, but I had already found my xr's with ITS drives. Turns out I am not going to move the motors forward, but am looking at -1 or -2 shorty lowers and am hoping to hear more thoughts from people on my scenario!

I also don't know which prop setup to go with. I have always had success with the bravo props and never tried the 5 blade. Thought on this?
Thanks a ton....

whats the set back on a ITS setup compared to a normal bravo setup?

bobkatz 06-21-2010 11:52 AM

It is around seven inches back and it contains the external steering.

The only thing I can add to your great set-up is:
1) Add the 5" spacer
http://www.cpperformance.com/p-12356...pacer-kit.aspx
2) Add the -2" IMCO lowers

After that, suggest you call Brett at BBLADES and enlist his expertise in which prop to use and how it should be "tuned".

Randy, chime-in and help this ladd out. You have more on the water experience in this area.
