I like the idea, just a little far for me.

A couple of us locally were talking about doing the same thing. We were thinking Lake Cumberland with AO's, Awesomes, Shadows, Chris Cats.

Lake Cumberland is 7 hours from me. If I finish in time for your event, count me in.

quest 01-13-2011 05:10 PM

No. I will not compete for the fastest american offshore twin engine trophy although I will compete for the outlaw challange shootout trophy.

It will be a very good event

Oh well.

quest 01-14-2011 06:09 PM

Texas is not that far a drive. the event is a realy good one.

Good poker run , good party, and good chances to win trophys.

you could get fastest in your Texas outlaw challange shootout class, fastest american offshore- twin engine or single engine, and best looking american offshore 3100, 2600, or deckboat.

For any of your friends having slower smaller boats, The outlaw challange will have a shorter smooth water poker run course that any 16 ft boat could easily handle.

speeds are recorded on a sealed gps which records the highest speed on any part of the poker run.

Too bad it can't be held on Lake Texoma. Galveston is 300 miles from where I live near Ft. Worth.

I would love to go but 23 hrs. of driving with a boat x2 is a bit to far for me. Looks like a good time though!

mountaincat 02-01-2011 09:48 PM

It's nice to see all this AO chatter! I would love to see something like this take place! I would be up for Texas, midwest, west or say Ozarks...........anything further east would be too far for me! It's going to be -20 tonight in Colorado so all this boat talk gets me thinking warm thoughts again! :-)

born2burn 02-04-2011 11:50 PM

Wow I got excited until I clicked on mapquest. 35hrs one way.

quest 04-14-2011 10:42 PM

outlaw26 06-07-2011 10:18 PM

well not looking good for me, fried a tranny, dont think im a have all the bugs worked out by then

rsscoggins 06-15-2011 12:24 PM

Is this regatta going to happen? I live in Dallas and am looking at the 2800 and 2900 Deck boats and talking with Cliff. Are you going to have boats there (new ones) for me to preview and test drive.

That would be awesome as it would save me a trip to the West Coast and allow the accountant (wife) to see them as well. If I come to the west coast, it will be just me.

Let me know
Stacy

BBADWS6 06-15-2011 02:10 PM

This event looks like a blast! What do you think the turnout will be for the sub 25 ft class of boats?

crowntow 06-15-2011 08:21 PM

Too far for me.Lake cumberland and Im in.

quest 06-27-2011 05:47 PM

The Texas Outlaw Challange was a big sucess with 85 boats participating. Sorry to say I was the only AO. Had to throw away the 5 trophys I purchased for AO participants. I easily won the 28 t0 31 ft modified engine class at 136 MPH with full tanks of gas. :angry-smiley-038:

ROTAX454 06-28-2011 08:09 AM

Quest, 136 MPH. Earns my respect. How about some vids or pics?:cool-smiley-027:

tssteph 06-28-2011 08:38 AM

I would like to see some pics and video also.
