31 AO and Arneson Drives
 

Has anyone put Arneson drives on a 31? If so, what were the results?

I have a 84 chris cat that i bought as the hull only in 95 (the old d class tropic heat boat) and built it with asd8s and 500 horse 502s, boat is heavy, 10,600 with fuel, it ran 89 gps. upped the motors to 700 horse in 99, boat runs 109 gps flat as a board in evil water or calm. I have put a tape on the hull of am american offshore 31 and on my chris side by side in a parking lot. THEY ARE THE SAME!!! If you offered me any other drive i would give it back.

The AO I rode in ran 114 with 675s B1s and 32" cleavers and was probly 3000lbs lighter than yours. I will say acceleration was awesome when the props hooked up...

Jefferys Chris Cat is in my hands today. Its acceleration is ..beast :)

I forgot to say that yes they would tape out the same as they are the same hull. Ed did not change that. What he did to lighten the AO I don't know but I bet Art knows.
