It's probably in no danger of selling. I've never seen a broker price boats so unrealistically as LCM.

What was Quick Tempered originally named?

Sooooooooo True.

Re: Look Who might be up for sale

I could not agree more, they jack the price up of some of these boats to triple their actual value.
Back when I was poking around and doing some online prop kicking they had a 1991 42 fountain and wanted some crazy amount of around 238 thousand or something just completely wacked out. Boat was worth 80 at best.
Must be some good crack goin on up there in them their hills!

Just called them and they are re-rigging it with new staggered 1300 Sterlings and the new owner will get to pick the paint job and they are asking $250,000.

How do you put new "twin" staggered engines in a triple engine boat?

I caught that in the ad. The boat had been previously re-rigged for twins. I've always wondered how a 47 would run with 2 big motors instead of 3 medium ones. Lighter weight with equivalent power... Tough on drives, though.

$250K would have been a decent price- last year.

Does anyone know the origin/history of the boat?

Saw it in Dania across from american offshore past couple years sitting outside. It caught my eye cause I was at American Offshore marina looking at the 47' octavian apache for sale. It was then still with trips.

Ask me in 12 months and I will tell you. The old 47's are too heavy to run good with twins but a new lighter one will rock. NK

I thought that same thing but the numbers do add up. Triple 850's (2,550 total HP) should push a half-cabin pleasure 47 into the low 80's. Twin 1,300's gives you the same power with 1,500#+ less weight. You'd think it would gain some speed. No?

Re: Look Who might be up for sale

And if you cut 1/3 of the hull weight off you'd be even better off, right Parn?

The 47's are awsome boats, I rode in KEMOSABE, and was blown away at the way they handle big water. The new 47 Sabers will be amazing with trips or twins, layed up like Wicked Won and the new Red 41 will be Big fun.

It's SOOOO tempting to step up from the 41 to the 47. I just know it will double my boating costs. Costs that are grossly non-affordable as-is.

Yep 47's are a whole differnt level of expense's, but they are awsome. I built my shop to fit one but I don't know if I will ever go that route.

I think I'd be better off with a 2nd 41. One pleasure and one 3-pack ex-racer. I can't get the one I have out of the 50's most of the time anyway with either broads or kids on board.

What was Quick Tempered originally named?

it was one of the HOGG boats...BOSS HOGG :)

i have a pic of it somewhere before it was redone and renamed... i'll dig it up this weekend...

I also know quite a bit of the history of the boat since around 97...in fact, i took the pics you see above.

Was it originally built as a race boat? it looks like the cockpit is too short to be a full pleasure boat.

What kind of layup?

(That's a polite way of asking is it a resin bucket or a RESIN BUCKET)

Not a raceboat and never was to my knowlege... very heavy. always a triple engine boat until now. that's why cockpit is small.

i noticed a lot of kevlar under the dash when it was apart

Kemosabe is Bad Azz, I ran a couple of poker runs with John (master of crash boxes :D ) and throttled Kemosabe, it is defiantly not a Resin Bucket, matter of fact it is very nimble and balanced despite it's size, also it leaps on plane and runs 100++++mph in rough water.

Kemosabe is THE baddest Apache in my opinion. :drink:

Kemo rolled past me at 112 at Boyne and I was rolling along at 90. WOW I need more power, it's all good, it's an amazing boat.

If I had the money for a triple engine McManus Powerboat, this would be high on the list. I have seen it in person and would love to own it.
