John we didn't get any engine room pics. We were just hanging on for dear life. The boat ran 102 with 6 of us, the wrong prop in the middle, a full tank of gas, pond water and unadjusted water pickups. The boat has plenty of speed left and it weighs 22500lbs! Awesomne ride.
Tank That is Spirit of Apache, equally impressive ride.
Cheif's new turbos are making big reliable horsepower on 93 with a long life expectancy. New efi systems are making them very user freindly. They idle perfect and the throttle response is awesome. Can't wait for the spring. Does anyone think making the same boat with the same horsepower 6,000lbs lighter will increase the speed and throttle response? NK

"Does anyone think making the same boat with the same horsepower 6,000lbs lighter will increase the speed and throttle response?"

Was that a rhetorical question Parnell, or do you expect an answer :)

Hello Parnell
I think the weight helps Apache in the rough stuff

Thanks Parnell, sounds very promising.
Are you thinking of putting turbo's in the new Saber?

What kinda horsepower is chief making with those Turbo's in Broken Arrow?

Re: Broken Arrow!!

Tommy's turbos are making a conservative 1200 although he just made a set for someone to run on race fuel over 1900 hp.
naturally we want them to run so 1200 sounds great.
Ed Tommy and I were just talking last weekend about how interesting a rough water battle between kemosabe at 17500 and Spirit of apache at 22,000 would be. 17500 and 47 feet is still a very heavy long boat and the throttle response is so much more significant that you could throttle out of a lot of problems. we are actually worried that it won't weigh enough so we are going to put in extra bulkheads for strength. The first 47 will have three turbos in it and hopefully will be in the newly refurbished mold in three weeks and completeted for smoke. I for one can not wait for a sea trial or 50. :drink: NK

If I recall ?? you were in Miami/Ft L and needed a special wrench to adjust your drive, walked into Martin Marine and asked the staff if you can borrow one for an hour. They told you to pound sand and see the guy down the block where your boat was at. Granted they didn't know you but maybe a 100. deposit and DLic could have solved your situation.

You are correct sir. It was a #6 alignment tool and I offered my liscense, a credit card and a $100. After saying no they called the boss and he said the same. Turns out I think he's the tool. Oh well. Have a great holiday. NK
