He said they got over 700 hrs out of the Teague 900's and it now has 700's in it which is likely underpowered. I will mention the thread being resurrected again and he may have some comment.
Bob As for top speed: On flat water I was able to get 88. In a chop, I was able to get 92. I had the benefit of being tutored on driving and throttling by the master: Bob Teague The last I heard, the boat was in storage in the St. Tropez area. That was from quite a while ago. I have not been in touch with the owner and therefor have no idea where it is now. |

Just found this thread and had a chance to read it. Had the opportunity back in the 90's to ride in the boat with Fred during a poker run on Lake Huron. Cruised through 6 to 8 ft waves with out being pounded around ( Fred not only knows how to build things but also how to drive them). The dash was unbeilivable with only the word "QUACK" beside the cartoon duck for the horn switch. Nice to see that the next owner kept it unique design intack, too bad the next owners could not recognize the true icon this boat was in the industry (one could only hope the original graphics are still on the boat just covered by a vinyl wrap, but doubtful)

The P1 design is vinyl. Designed and applied by the same folks who do that work for Disney World. The vinyl approach was not so much to preserve the iconic value of the boat as it was to save time. The P1 folks didn't have the time for multiple design reviews and paint. I thought it came out pretty nice. I hoep the original paint under the vinyl stayed well. T |

Very nice job. I have a '91 comanche that was named "Winner 2' and am just completing a complete refit. Engines out , converted to fuel injection. New AFR heads, new everything except blocks and cranks. Drives rebuilt by Gaylon at speedmasters. all new gauges, interior, stereo system, indicator cables, wiring, and a beautiful paint job.
