Just got 28 apache CC few questions..??
 

I posted a topic a while back about a 28 center console apache that my parents-in-law had. Well we had the chance to buy it off them and took them up on it.

My question now, that I have title in hand, is that it was made in 96 and the title states it was produced by Unlimited Powerboats Incorporated. Year is 1996 and has twin 250 merc efi's. It has the chief logo on the side with Apache Powerboats letering, but on the cushions in the boat it is engraved with Unlimited Powerboats along with the chief logo.

I have done a lot of research on this forum on the Apache history and no where did I see anything about Unlimitid Powerboats discussed anywhere.

I was wondering if this is a true Apache produced by Bob S?

Can anyone shed some light?

That was built by Eric Froberg, he worked for Bobby for years, broke off for a while as Unlimited and then joined back up with Bobby. Eric does awsome work, and really nice rigging.

Update:
Well had to replace a Stator in one of the engines which was done last Friday so we could get out for the labor day weekend.

First ride was on Sunday... Ran for about 30 min at about 4k rpm crusing at 50mph and the engine we replaced the stator on dropped like 500 rpms. Slowed down and sounds like it was not firing on all cyinders, shut her down and idled home on one engine. So needless to say our boating weekend came to an abrupt hualt!!!

Going today to change spark plugs (looked like they are old), before us boat hasn't been run in 2 years!! If that doesn't work I am having my mechanic come out again this week.

Hopefully we can have it up and running this weekend... And I will get some good pics!!

Does it have old fuel in it? That will cause you all sorts of problems as well.

On this boat there are two fuel tanks. One forward and one rear, both 100 gallons.

The previous owner (father in law) said to only use the front tank becuase he said the rear one might have old fuel. So I filled up the front tank, which was bone dry, and it took about 90 gallons. The fuel gauge for the rear tank doesn't work so I have no idea how much fuel is in it.

I would assume that both fuel tanks are some how hooked together so that if one tank runs out the other one will pick up.

How could I get the bad gas out of the other tank? Should I just fill up the rear tank as well and hope that all the new gas will dilute the old gas? Maybe put some octane boost in as well?

Any help let me know. Going now to get some plugs... Will report back.

I´d go with old gas and tanks like that..fill them all up unless you want(/can) to drain them.

Maybe look into siphoning out the rear tank / old gas ?
