14 to 18's? Gimme a Saccenti 85 with a pair of 8,000 SHP turbines and I'm there.

Waxing up the old surf board or at least would have been back in the early 70s. These days In think they would arrest me for going out in it at least around Stuart Fla

John Connor had an 83' Tencara V-bottom at his shop some years ago. It was set up for turbines and GM 6-92TA's for use in maneuvering. The diesels drove one set of inputs on the ZF transmissions and the turbines on the other. You switched back & forth between power sources. He said they expected 90+mph out of it. The owner died during the build- I don't know what happened to it. That would be one hell of a poker run boat.
