Heated bearing due to wrong gear lube, shafts preloaded wrong and causing serious wear on two gears. in short there where several small things wrong that coulda turned into bigger problems especially with 850's. but me not knowing anything about the boat i just wanted a him to go through them and make them new again. Dennis said that the one drive could have gone in a week or a year its hard to tell but going through them was a must. i basically told him to make these drives as if they came new from him originally, but they are right you wont know how much its going to cost until he gets it apart. Seriously if you have any questions about your drives you really should just give him a call. hes always willing to give the best info and hes easy to deal with.

you guys should come down to okc and hit some lake draper some time (jk) it would make your lakes much more enjoyable. ha! Draper has is a lot of naked chicks and fights but no fun for running big boats.

waterboy... i will pm you when we are coming to grand... its a "for sure" thing. so get ready!

thisistank... are you going to the desert storm poker run? we are considering it.

Thanks for the info. (and from El Indio) I'm going to eventually need to buy new shafts I think plus I want them gone through sooner or later.

YES! we'll be at Desert Storm. drag that f*cker our there. It's going to be a great venue this year. Hope to see you out there.

I know...I have had them checked by a local guy and theres no shavings and they turn real fluid and smooth. But I'd still like to get 'em cracked open

What drives do you have on your boat?

el indio 02-19-2008 03:42 PM

3 lge shaft 1:50..
3 lge shaft 1:58..
3a.............1:62..
depending which motors.......blower motors run 3a's as Riggs suggested......

Quiet Storm 02-19-2008 03:54 PM

OK, the #3's and #3a's can be exchanged. Can the #5's bolt on as well or would the transom have to be modified? Would the #5's work better on a 41?

el indio 02-19-2008 04:13 PM

differant dia propshaft....changed shafts to keep props the same.....3small shaft....3a 4 and 5 all the same large shaft.....#5 gimbal may be a little heavier....same bolt pattern.......according to randy garciga the 5s are faster...randy is the G from c and g marine...now COBRA POWER..........the 1 41 with 5s that i know takes along reving sliping time before it gets on plane....not for me......i like clean get up and go excelleration........ my 41 is extreamly light.............mark..
