Where are those Apache guys???
3 Attachment(s)
With the Don Aronow Memorial Race to be run on June 20th, there is a great deal of silence from the Apache camp.
This should be your kind of race...with the potential for big water it would be a walk in the park for some of the Apache boats. Everyone has talked about missing the opportunity for the old open ocean water races and wishing they had been around in those times....well, here it is and it may only happen once....anybody in? Or is it just memories and watching others race on DVD's for this generation? Rules and entry form can be downloaded off the HORBA site. www.historicraceboats.com |
LOL....they are all getting fixed or updated! :D
|
Scared of the big cats I assume:hitfan:
|
Steve and Carl
Come on, Nykamp and ApacheCarl!
Don't let us down! :(:( |
If someone wanted to pay ALL my expenses (before and after) I might consider... :)
|
Maybe they should bring the DA Memorial Race up to Lake Michigan---I'm sure they'll get some participants and on lookers from up here then. :D
|
That just might be a plan for the future ! You never know ...
We will be working on new locations to set up record runs ! |

Scott I'd rather spend the $5-7K in gas running the boat the entire summer, sorry man I can't swing it.... The poker run coming up in NYC in two weeks from now is costing me $600 plus fuel.... :cool-smiley-011: |

That Cherokee is unreal, weakest link is the drive though, should have a six/konrad on that and I'd think that thing would be fun as hell.
Ps I'm guessing Bravo drive from the pics.... |

The magazines are already starting to cover the race with major stories and it is still 2 weeks away.
Still no Apache's entered. Will the history of this race be written without that great name included? Somebody out there has to have a sense of history for this brand. Lorne Liebel and John Tomlinson have just entered....thought they might use the new hole in the deck Apache that Lorne had JT do up for him over the winter, but they are going with a 46 MTI. |
ALL TALK NO ACTION :party-smiley-004:

We would love to be able to part of this history making day, it just isn't going to happen with our Apache.
We do hope someone is able to represent the Apache's over the course of the weekend as they are such a big part of Aronow's legacy. I think KAAMA is right with his comment if this was up in this part of the world, we would take part because we live here. It's why the comments of "where are all the Apache's" are coming from mostly Florida residents....they are already there. The race is being held where it fittingly should be. Top Banana and those involved deserve major kudos for bringing this Memorial Race together, along with what appears all the pomp and circumstance it deserves. We wish everyone much success in the weekend and as Apaches owners of less than one year, we do hope someone owning an Apache in the area is able to be part of this event. |
Has anyone contacted McManus??? He's in the area and could probably represent Apache best since it's his company!:eureka:

Actually i did speak to him about this when looking for lowers for Dave, he has so much vested in P1 that this run doesnt offer him much, so he is opting out. after his reasoning, I understood it.

And the transportation over there too... At least being in the business over here I know the rates... I was myself kinda dissapointed about the Apache Tribe not being there but reasoning it´s nowadays normal people that has wanted like 20yrs to get an A and then buys a project so they don´t prolly have the coin and skill to take a boat out and really push it to the limits. Reminds me a lot of Historic Racers..thats why I´m rather a Formula 3 Crew Chief... But I´m also glad Twistana (see the ad in post #1) was repowered with 1200´s and is run hard.... Pics from last weekend. http://forum.boatsite.se/uploads/pos...1217346524.jpg http://www.boatlife.se/forum/uploads...1217266772.jpg And a Vid...Twistana running Third (?) at 0.30 onwards... http://www.offrd.se/boat/poker-run-stockholm-2008 |
