Deffinetly need paint or vinyl:D That interior must get pretty hot also. But hey its an APACHE:D I wonder what it weighs and how accurate the speed listed is?

There is another one on boattraderonline.com that is a single 800HP and a 3 man race set up that looks good too.

TexomaPowerboater 06-04-2008 05:11 PM

I saw that 1998 cherokee.........pretty neat.

There is a 2002 28 listed with no picture. Ad says the hull has never been wet and it being rigged with twin 502's. Curious if its that apache mell riggs has. I'd like to see that puppy.

Isn't here another thread about this one ?

lowblue320 06-04-2008 06:33 PM

nice boat........I like the windshield...makes it look bigger....

WMF 06-04-2008 08:59 PM

The 2002 in boat trader is Mel Riggs boat( tried to buy it, never got a price or call back), I cant believe the # of 28 Apache's for sale right now. I dont think any of them hold a candle to my or Andy's Apache 28, but it give's me hope with the prices they are asking!!! P.S. I hate the larger windshield on the 28 Apache, it does not fit or look right, just my thoughts

I agree the fairing really screws up the lines.

Perlmudder 06-04-2008 10:25 PM

I don't like the windshield either, but what is the deal with unlimited powerboats apache? I am sure there are hundreds of threads on this, but why is it unlimited powerboats and not just apache?

I personally don't care for the windshield either, messes up the lines, but each to their own. When I get smacked in the face by a wasp, then maybe I'll change my mind. Its unlimited powerboats because its NOT an apache. It was not made by the apache company or B Saccenti or McManus. Pretty sure Eric Froberg built the Unlimited brand. I believe its a lighter layup. Can't really comment on the quality of the boats because I've never seen one. Didn't Froberg work for Apache?

They are not as slow as you might think. I get upper 70's with twin 460hp. 80 with twin stock 502's.........maybe of the 500hp variety is more than reasonable. The newer apaches dropped 500-1000lbs.

Sick Stinger 06-05-2008 09:04 AM

really didnt know that thought they were heavier dont get me wrong great boat just thought it took more hp to get it going

WMF 06-05-2008 10:09 AM

They do take HP to get them going, I know that with over 500 hp they will run in the 80's, but they will still not jump out of the water!!

TexomaPowerboater 06-05-2008 12:56 PM

Uhhhhhhhhh huh..........and how many times have you had yours out Bill???????

I've got no problems jumping up on plane.........in that respect its not much different than other similar 28's.......with the exception of AT in which case I will smoke most any 28AT off the line because the 28AT is not big enough for a pair of big blocks:hitfan:. It will jump, but needs atleast 4-5ft of wave....maybe more.

TexomaPowerboater 06-05-2008 01:15 PM

LOL.......oh yah, and a 28 twin engine gets better gas mileage than a 28 single as long as your not too heavy on the sticks.

LOL... twin 475sbc vs single 950hp blower.
should both be close to the same.
takes fuel to make the power.

Let me know of all the curse words you invent when you have to change a starter or spark plugs:p

TexomaPowerboater 06-05-2008 03:56 PM

Dooooooobt!!!! I paid to have the plugs changed. Mechanic told me he had to leave one in after he sent his smallest worker home for cutting up his hands so bad.
