33 warrior

Could anyone tell me about the 33 apache? Good, Bad? Anything you could tell me would be great!
I am still looking for a 28, but a 33 came to my attention. Is it a true Apache?

Thanx

To the best of my knowledge, there were two "versions" of the 33.
One version was an open-fish of which there are only two in existance. One is for sale in Florida at the moment. It is truly a "custom'' boat, as there was no deck mold made, and the builders custom fabricated the deck by hand. The beam was around 9+ feet. There was one other hull popped out of the mold. The plan was to stretch it to a 35foot boat and go into production.
The other 33 was the really skinny 33 with almost a needle-nose bow. This boat looks really cool, but the 8ft beam and the skinny bow made it very difficult to operate unless you were a real "pro".
there was one with triple 200 o-boards that looked incredible (it may have been Ben K's dads boat...
I'm talking old-school Apache here.
My 2 cents ? The one for sale in Ft.Lauderdale with the 9+ft beam is bad-ass...

To be honest, I'm really not sure. There is no picture with the add.
Try contacting the seller and asking for more info....if it's the narrow beam (8ft.) early version, which it may be given the year it was made, I suggest you be very careful.
Hard to manouver ? According to folk-lore, they stopped building the narrow beam because they stuffed so easily....

Kind regards,
Hans

I saw an i/o version on a lift on Virgin Gorda, Limirick Bay in the British Virgin Islands. Big Apache head down the side. Kooked clapped out. The one on OSO is probably the cc that Mark Adams has for sale.

Hi DanL,

Nope, the one for sale on OSO is the older version, 1983 . Mark Adams has the "cool" one off ...Hence the name of his boat is actually "Only One"! It's really a beautiful boat...

When will you be tearing up the Hudson ??

All the best,
Hans

we will probably head out on Sat or Sun, not both. I have the headliner down and I'm putting it back up tonight and tomorrow.

rockstrmkr 06-20-2002 03:58 PM

DanL,

Very cool...I'm going to be on the road this weekend, but I'm grounding myself for as much of the summer as possible. Let me know if/when you want an extra person along...
I don't drink so I'd happily be designated driver !!!!
