Took the boat out Saturday and Sunday. Still have to finish the hatch though.

Panther 04-17-2014 10:25 AM

Glasswork on the underside of the hatch complete. Time to turn the attention to finishing the topside.

Thanks! It's been a long 1 yr road. Happy it's almost over but at the same time sorta burnt out on it and want to go boating instead of turning wrenches.

Yeah, I hear ya. We all want a project until we are knee deep in it...

Panther 04-17-2014 03:05 PM

I hear that!!!

It also helped that the last two project boats I completed were without having kids!!

Man thats so true and its the really hard part...Your almost there and its so tempting to slack up, start cheeseballing and cut corners just to get it it finished.

Panther 04-28-2014 06:00 AM

First speed test was 73mph which is a 10mph gain.

vintage chromoly 04-28-2014 06:34 AM

Great job man!
Those are definitely iconic boats.

Panther 04-29-2014 08:32 PM

Thanks. The results so far have definitely made the work rewarding.

Still a few props to test. ;-)

Looking awesome man. All you have to do now is sell me that SS drive for my Powerplay and do the Bravo conversion. Then you can go back to never thinking twice about throwing the hammer down! :-)

Or sell the boat with the SS on the back now that it's fully restored. lol

Sold the boat last year.

Still miss it a lot!

Will you make up your mind ........lol

Panther 12-11-2016 07:54 PM

Crazy how things work out sometimes! I should have never sold it! BUT, even though it needs tlc compared to when I sold it, the drive was upgraded to a Blackhawk.

DjMikeyC 12-13-2016 03:15 PM

Did he blow the SS drive?

Panther 12-16-2016 08:49 AM

Yes, he did. He had a panic manuever docking and hit the throttle and put the engine on the rev limiter...went to grab the stick and grabbed the shifter by mistake... :poopoo:

It's got a Blackhawk on it now... Can't wait to see what it does! Supposedly it runs 80mph now which would be a 7mph gain over what I had it up to with the SS drive. :evilb:

I also pulled the engine to do some injector maintenance. Compression checked it and leaked down good. Compression still had 195 psi, 2 years since I built it.

Couple of pics... I pulled the engine to clean it and replace some injectors over the winter.
