Congrats to Jbonz

Jack, I love it. I just want to say you deserve your boat on the water because of your persistence, perfection and determination to not only make it right but perfect. 4 years in the making and it floats and runs. I never ever in my life thought I would like to wet out and lay glass, grind glass, and sand a whole boat down. It only itches for a little and then it doesn't matter after you realize that the final product is worth the effort to bring it back to glory. I hope you enjoyed this project and pass it down to Little Jack so that he can enjoy what was a disaster and one day post on OSO that he is still running that mess of a boat my dad bought. I know your Dad is proud of you and a few other people are also. I wish i was there with you on the lake but we will run a boat together again. Enjoy it, you deserve. It takes a lot of passion to do what you have achieved. Congrats again bro. |
Thanks bro! I cant thank you enough for all the help. I cant it was a great experience to get back on the water with it....

|
Looks great, wish I still had mine. Love the apache logo on the seats and fairing!
|
Thanks everyone!
Steve, All is well. I hope to see you get that ingine out one of these days! Kris, It was great meeting you to. Still cant get over how well your boat turned out... The engines sounded great! tcwcar, Again, Awesome work so far on that cig! Ike, I drooled over yours for a long time! I am running a very similar set up with the stainless box and the jack plate. I do have tabs for it but I am not sure if I really need them or not yet. Still trying to find the sweet spot for getting on plane and getting some speed out of it... Were you ever able to get yours on the pad? Jr. |
mine ran 66 mph but had terrible torque steer when I raised the jack plate to get that speed, but man that thing handled the chop really well never slammed coming off a wake. I used the 280 tabs to get it on plane plus it made it handle the rough better. Great boats, I looked at one years ago red and white with a 454 and trs drive with trans of course and stock manifolds and risers must be so tail heavy but the owner said it would and could run with the bigger boats. I would like to get another one with an I/O.

I don't think it had a name but the interior was red and white stripe, old school. Mine had a 2.5L 260hp FI mercury offshore with milled heads.

I am curious now what mine is running with 300 sbc and Alpha ss. Yhe speedo shows low 60's and 43 @ 3600.
