I really love seeing something like that brought back from the dead. Dedication can do a lot!

So you went home and told your dad the boat is junk, and he couldn't help himself and had to go buy a piece of junk!
Now that you have the boat and not somebody else, its not that bad? The boat is junk seen it for myself, guess junk has a different meaning than I thought.

Yo kool hold your ponies. My boat was the same way need to see past what's first glance and get to the meat of it. Some cash and hard work goes a long way.

koolkats 07-18-2014 11:47 AM

No question hard work, cash does go along way, I just get the impression that junk means just that, scrap because it is not worth getting into, glad to see it will be back on the water and maybe I'll see it next time around.

The guy puts that the boat is junk and that he looked at it. Then month and a half later he goes and buys it. Seems like a prick shot on anyone else who was interested. Thats all!

No the guy that looked at it told his dad don't buy it. He sent me pics and described what was wrong with it and I said don't buy it. So he went back and bought it anyway. So now I have a months worth of glasswork to do and 2 small blocks to rig and install in it. The boat was pretty rough and in my opinion not worth buying. But this guy wanted it and doesn't care what it takes to fix even if the only thing left is the hull number.

I got to see this boat in person, back in about 2008 before purchasing mine, and it was pretty bad. Still, glad to here it will be repaired as these are great boats and that one has a great looking paint job.

Please keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks!

Well everything that was said here is true. My son told me not to buy the boat, and so did everyone else, but thankfully I did not listen. I have always wanted one of these boats because I loved the lines of the boat and it's excellent reputation as a serious offshore boat for it's size. After looking at it a couple of time and careful consideration, I felt this boat was worth saving. It was definitely neglected for quite some time but considering the rarity of the boat it would be a shame to see it end up in the scrap heap. I am completely gutting the boat and pretty much rebuilding it with great attention to detail and a few updates to give it a more modern look. I will post some pics shortly with my progress. I am spending some serious time/money to return her to her glory days and you don't realize how much work it really is until you get knee deep in the process, but i am still really excited about the prospect of making her look like new again. Lot's of time and money already spent, and not even close yet but she is coming along nicely. I will be uploading pics in the next few days and keep everybody posted. Hoping to get her in the water before summer is over but we will see how it goes for now.

Thanks for all the comments.

Good luck with the build. Always cool to see a classic get restored with modern technology!
