22' Apache Scout 198
I'll pickup my 1987 22' (I/O) Scout Friday. WoooHooo! :drink: It does need repower, everything from the Crankshaft pulley to the Prop nut! The Hull is like new as is the interior. I will post Pic's sometime this weekend. Might need some help in locating the Front "offshore" motor mount. if anyone has one please let me know.

Congrats Todd ! Show us some pictures when you can !

Congrats! Now let's see some pics...:)

She was sitting on blocks, so I had to free up a trailer but I got her home and did a little cleaning. Now she sleeps till I can get a eng and some other parts in the following weeks. I hope to have her ready by mid Apr. WooHooo.
Todd I'll post some pic's as soon as I can figure out how to upload them on here. Uggggggggg |
Too hard to upload here, so I put them on here: https://86apache.shutterfly.com/

Looks like the one Bill sold Rob Asner in Maryland years ago.
|
Yes But minus the eng, outdrive ... etc
|
Congrats! I miss my Scout!
|
Was it this one or one just like it?
|

Thanks Jay, I'd prefer a 28 in trade currently for our toddlers to get more boating time. Someday I am sure I'll grab a Scout also.
|
Always liked the flat deck 22.
|
Nice boat, congrats! I believe that was owned by Rob Asner at one time...he also had a nice 41.

What do you folks think? Should I install Trim Tabs, Smart Tabs, or just leave it as is?
Thanks, Todd |
Mine had K-Planes on it. I highly recommend!
|
Not much progress to report due to weather but I have my eye on a 6.2 MPI. with any luck I'll have it by the end of march.. :)

I remember this boat when it was for sale back in the day, it used to have red interior in it, it had a small block and an alpha drive sitting on a very nice aluminum trailer... it was for sale back in 2009 with the nice new white interior. I may have pics from back then...

If you come across any pictures I'd love to see them. Thanks, Todd |
I picked up a 5.7 and a Alpha Drive. I hope to have her in the water Mid Apr. I'll post pictures when I get started. Still looking for the Offshore Motor mount!!! My local Mercruiser Dealer said $420.00 Kinda Tight right now with this move and a Cruise to the Bahamas later this month!

Just a quick update, I got my hands on a 5.7 and Alpha 1 Gen2, and Transom Plates, I also found a after market Offshore Motor mount but I haven't ordered it yet. I have a few side jobs to do but.... I hope to get started by the end of Apr! My goal was to have her ready by Tiki Bar Opening at Solomons Island (17Apr), but I have more Side jobs than I planed for. I'll be posting Pictures of the progress when I get started!

its amazing how one owner takes care of it. and the next strips it and leaves it for dead. Good to see she will be saved.

No problem Todd, just glad I still had them. Keep us posted on the progress. I picked up a 1981 24 Pantera last summer, she has a small block / alpha drive setup too. So I'm working on a plan to give it a bit more power. Intake, heads, cam, etc...

Very nice hull to work with. If either of you guys are interested in a complete 383 please let me know. I have held onto it looking for a hull like this Apache but I am getting tired of looking and would let the motor go.
