Original sale price 1988 41' Apache

Title pretty much says a it all. What did they sell for new approximately?

I'm being told $175k max. I find that very hard to believe. My 1989 31' Cigarette Bullet had an original sale price of $183k. I can't see an Apache of that size selling remotely in the same ballpark.

Between $500k -700k depending on options and some north of that. They were the Skater, MTI & Outerlimits of today that cost 7 figures and more. Also remember a lot of it was Miami $$$ :party-smiley-004:

I believe Pete said mine was $400,000 when new in 1989

Your Bullet would have been 183K MSRP, the Apache would have been 175K out the door price (higher MSRP)

Twin Step TG's were listed in the magazines as a 255K boat new with 500 efi's......so you could probably have bought those early boats out the door at 200K in 2001.

Wow, that's not much depreciation at all.

Money would probably have been poured back in a 15 year old boat so that isn't reflected in the resale price. Early Apaches have similar numbers, later really custom models however fall off the charts in depreciation like a new offshore would today.

Skip did brag to one of the magazines he almost doubled the price of the boat in the first 5 years he owned the company. Double is heavy for a boat that is relatively unchanged....20% a year increase 5 years in a row would be doubling the original price point. The early 2000's until about 2007 was insanity for all boat builders with easy lending and lots of demand.

It happens with anything where the price of the new one rises significantly, it artificially inflates the resale on a used model.
