How many Apaches were built...?
How many Apaches were ever built...?
Does anyone here know the exact numbers for each model? How many Apache 21/22 Apache 28 Apache 36 Apache 41 and Apache 47 were built? Many thanks for your help...! |
i asked that question early in the apache thread although i confined my question to 41 and 47's and i believe the answer was something along the lines of 74 41's and 28 47's and remember thinking to my self that the 47 count seemed high just based on the number talked about. i can believe the 41 figure if you figure production was from 1984 to early 90's that would be something like 6-8 per year

That's a first number - great! Many thanks 'later'. I guessed they built more 41's... Someone once posted here on OSO they made 100 41's...
74 Apache 41's 1984-1993/4 28 Apache 47's (sounds a bit high for me too, maybe only 20...?) 55-60 Apache 28's 1988-1993 (In 1997 Cherokee did #68 out of the original Apache Brave mold, so that should mean 55-60 original Apache 28's untill 1993 from this mold) 2 Open Apache 33's 3-5 Apache 33's ??? Apache 21/22's 1986-1993/4 (...maybe 40-60?) ??? Apache 36's (my uneducated guess would be 20-30...?) These are the first numbers - can anyone fill in the missing numbers and/or correct the other ones...? Any input is appreciated very much. I'm already amazed how many of you are looking at this thread - so this question seems to be of interest. |
and dont forget 1-45, and what about the 50 maybe 2

36 APACHES
There are just over 100 36 that have been made, they build about 4 a year . Bobby said that 5 to 8 was his biggest year.
|
Nykamp I read this # - "100 Apache 36's" - on OSO in another thread too.
But I doubt this number very much. First: You have more 41's around than 36's. At least in Miami. So it should be much less than the 74 existing Apache 41's. Mainly the numbers and your quote don't add up: If Bobby said "they built about 4 a year" just multiply it with 10 years (1988/9 - 1996/7). That would be 40...Never 100. Just 40. And this would make sense - when you consider that there are less much 36's than 41's around. Something between 35 and say 45 ever built of the Apache 36 - as an indicator. Does anyone have the exact number? Anyone from Apache reading this one day...? Also I wonder: Does anyone know how many of the 74 Apache 41's are "Race" and how many are the "Pleasure"-Version? |
Latest update
Exactly 75 Apache 41's were ever produced.
Exactly 20 Apache 47's and 50's were ever produced. Plus: Exactly 9 Apache Cats were built, of which 3 were pleasure and 2 military. About 10-12 Apache 21/22 (pre ! "Scout" model 1982-1986 - the Scout must have higher numbers) were built. If anybody knows more numbers (for the 45, the 36, the 22 "Scout") please post them here. Many thanks! |
were did you get the exactly #'s from, and i too would like to know approximately how many 41's were race and how many pleasure. it seems that the only number we know for sure is there was 1(one) 45 Apache made

i kno wteh open center console apache was on yachtworld.com
very interesting boat. Be cool to have as part of the colelction. (note to self make first billion start fast boat/car colection and harem......) |
Puder: the 33 open is still on boattrader.
http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/1/2/41087112.htm That would be a nice hobby, starting to "collect" Apaches... Cheaper than a harem (your idea) for sure... Later: I got the numbers from the "Monster" thread "Apache what's in a name"...I read it for 10 hours. The number for the cats came from I think Craig Barry - he knows. The number 75 + 20 seem to be very likely to be correct too. They even knew that one 41 was titled double. So very likely that's the number. Like you I'd really like to know how many 41's were the race-version. I think it will be less than half and definately more than 20 (just remember all the famous names!). So between 20... and ...35. This is really just a guess, nothing more. All in all - all models counted - the number of Apaches will be around 210-235. Compare this to way over 2000 built Cigarettes... |
APACHES
They also maked a few what I believe they call race/pleasure versions Pleasure cockpit with a short staggerdrive train. They also made 24's I thinck there are very few of these, I have only ever seen one for sale a 1989 with bravo and 454 mag it was on the east coast years ago.

Bobby S. told me sixty five 28s have been built.I believe this includes there center console vesion as well:cool:

Hi WARPAINT, when "Hotboats" tested the Brave 28 in 1997 they wrote their Brave 28 was "the 68th out of the mold, according to Froberg". So it could be... they really made 65 Originals ...plus a handfull Cherokees later.
That will surely include the 28 center console version, but how much did they made of this? 2? 3? Not many. WARPAINT, I started boating on a Cigarette Bullet 31. Did you ever see a Bullet? How does a Cigarette Bullet compare to your Apache 28? They both have exactly (!) the same beam: 8'6". Both are built like a brick. The Bullet is of course 3ft longer. Quite a bit. I did never ride on an Apache 28. How would you compare them? How fast does your Apache 28 go on GPS with full fuel? How fast would an Apache 28 go with less power, say 2x500hp. 77mph? 80? |
WARPAINT
You also have a 41 ? What year is it ? What drive train?
|
NYKAMP, i do not own a 41.i bought my 28 from ike rowland who owns the 41 war party.i have twin 509/600 hps full of fuel on gps it runs 84 mph.with stock 502s i believe my boat ran 77. i have never been on a 31 bullet but the 28 apaches definately feel much larger than they really are.great rough water boat;)

WARPAINT
Sound sweet I was thincking you also had a 41. Isn't there a 41 on the east coast called war paint one of bobby old race boats?

When I bought the MEDICINE MAN boat, I called Mr. McManus and asked him "How many 47's were built?" He informed me that there 28 hulls pulled from the molds and that the boat that I had was hull #3. Originally built as "Cardiac Arrest".

The 28 Brave was a better boat than the Bullet. Two friends of mine have Bullets and 1 friend with a Brave with Twin 600hp Keith Eickerts. The Bullets are cool but the Brave is a better design, why do you think Cig discontinued the Bullet. The Bullet was top-heavy and liked to chine at high speeds. The Mystique was a big improvment, especially with steps. The Brave just gets crazy at around 85mph, it runs out of hull. It's a little rocket!

Actually, there were 2 different 33's, which one are you refering to?

Stinson,
YOU (of all people) don't know how many 21's were built? WTF? I was under the assumption you had all the answers. OH GREAT! I had so much faith in you until this. It breaks my heart. I'll lose sleep now.:D:D:D:D:D |

A 33' 1983 Warrior "El Boss" is what I am mostly interested in. So far in the Apache threads there is little info on this length of Apache curiously seems to be skipped over. So a history lesson on 33"s please.
Thanks in advance Originally posted by SPWilson Actually, there were 2 different 33's, which one are you refering to? |
Turbo
There are reports that one of the 33' molds ended up at Concept Boats and is being used in their Center Console Fish.
The other report I have is the 33 was based off of a 36, but may not be true. I do not know when the 36 was first built. |
I spoke with Bob Saccenti about the 33. He says about 20 some were built. The hull was unique to itself. The 36 was a shortened 41 according to him. He also stated either Concept or Contender was building a center console model from the 33 Apache mold.
