Going to drill some core holes and make sure the craftsmen built a good hull. Hopefully its not going to be an extensive repair/renovation. Going to loose some of the interior cushion comforts thanks to little critters squatting! Sad to admit.

I was always a two stroke freak, racing vintage Yamaha Piston Port Factory Road Racers like the TD3 and TR3 road race bikes of 1972. I wanted to buy a 3.4 powerhead to put in a sports car after I got a call from the EPA regarding the so called end of the two stroke in the lawn and garden industry. Well that didn't happen! I make the accu-mix jug for blending any type of concentrate at all the popular ratios, its called the smart jug and its like a computer in a can! Well, after buying the powerhead, I heard the seller helling, give me another few grand and you can have the boat! Thats how I got it, couldn't pass it up!

Now to answer your question! Mercury I believe called them 300's based on crankshaft readings, then they started calling them 275's, then 250's to more accurately describe the actual HP at the prop shaft. There were carb models for production and EFI for racing, all based on the same 3.4 liter block. Recently heard there was rod issues and they literally took them off the marked and scraped brand new ones and shipped the 2.4/2.5 liter versions as warranty replacements. All I know is that they are hell of a nice design and I have a large collection of both models to keep me in the fast lane for years to come! I will accept donated gas cards!
