height on trailer
 

Been looking into a 31 lately and was wondering if anyone had measured the height/length/width of theirs on the trailer. The garage I have available to me has an 11' wide by 8' high door and the bay itself is 15' wide and 43' deep with about 10' ceilings. It would be under a house that we are finishing. Thanks in advance

I can tell you this it won't fit under 8'door,ya need a ten. Trailer width is 9',length is 36'on mine.hope that helps

The trailer does dictate the overall height of the boat/trailer combo. When I had mine on a Manning trailer, the height was well over 8'. My current trailer is from Owens and sons. The boat sits lower. I could tape it off to see what the overal height is.

Gary (Feline) is correct. 9' wide.
Look on the Owen and Sons web site, custom pics of trailers and look for the Spectra on the twin axle trailer. Pic shows what the trailer looks like, minus the outdrive extension. See how low the boat sits on the trailer.

Height: 7'9" (currently no windscreen on race fairing)
Trailer max width: 8'10"
Length: unknown since I have the outdrives currently off the hull.

Disclaimer: Gary and other Awesome owners are correct in their dimensions. There are several different trailer manufacturers for our type of hull. As I stated previously, the trailer makes the difference. Hell, you could have the same trailer but have different wood bunk dimensions. :cool-smiley-011:

Mine is also an Owen and sons aluminum trailer.but an 8' door only opens to a 7' 4" height.unless you can get a one price door with a low header kit it wont fit.sorry

Thanks guys, when I said door I meant the actual opening was 11x8 with door up. I can actually go up another 8" or 9" if I want to go with a different door.

Now to find a boat.. (the 94 I liked in the classifieds is gone)

Any ideas as to weight on steel vs aluminum trailers as well? I'm selling my truck and looking for a diesel (used) and want to make sure I'm within the trucks limits.

Depends how far you want to go.

But min. you will need a 2500 series.
Just the tongue weight.

Need to pull 10,000 lbs.
Pick-up truck (2500-3500) or Suburban.

I have an '08 Dodge cummins 2500. It pulls my cat no problem with a steel trailer.

The boat came from Arizona and was towed all the way to Detroit with the same truck! That was over 2100 miles :eek:

I guess my current truck would be fine. 98 2500 suburban with 7.4 and 4.10's. Only problem is the 222k on the clock

I have a 96 Suburban with a 454 vortec, think the same motor.

I pull around town with the Suburban (4x4). need the 4x4 for the wet ramp.

Motor has more power then needed. I have 500,000 klm on mine & she does not take oil,
GAS?, well thats another story.

When pulling on the highway I pull with a Ford550 7.3 diesel.
Much better on gas.

But, love my suburban & checked to change for a new & decided to keep mine,. (great truck, just hard on gas, but will pull the boat no problem.)

Have fun & make sure your tranny cooler is fine & not blocked,. (been there:lolhit:)
