Wannabe, Do you know anything about this hull? Notice no pics of the cockpit area or dash. Hmmmm. Perhaps missing the cockpit liner and dash panel? That will really enhance the sale. Did anyone notice the trailer---classy.

Back in August there was a ad [on craigslist Detroit] for all the molds & partial hulls that Klym had hid in a storage yard. If this hull came from there I would look it over closely. All that stuff was out in the open for years, + what kind of title does it have. A check with a moisture meter will tell for sure if the hull is sound.

That hull was a nother well lets just say a weird thing from awesome.

That hull was sprayed gel some glass no core and no more glass no bulk heads except in the very bow it could be finished but lots of core and glass not a basic backyard project but could be done.

Also i talked to the owner of it last night nice guy and it is the hull that i thought it was .

Gary, Was I correct. Just a hull and deck. No other parts? Unless I am wrong in thinking that the deck mold does not contain the cockpit area. For some reason, I thought that 31 Awesome was built from 4 different molds. Hull, deck, cockpit and dash panel. Please do correct me if I am wrong. This thought (number of molds used) was based upon actually seeing the layup process for myself during one of my visits to Awesome in 2003.

And, does the price include that custom trailer? Sorry, just kidding.

There was a blank just like this one in Michigan that was filled with water and froze. Not sure if this is the one but I don't see any drain holes in the transom. I was told it was built with an "extra light deck"... That's been a few years ago and it had been sitting out a while before i called on it. Whoever is looking at it just be cautious and get it checked out.

gary cook 09-28-2012 05:14 AM

Sorry guys had a brain fart that the deck and bucket were all in one mold im going to try to hook up with him this weekend get a .look at it and i will post what it is good or bad

awesomecat26 09-30-2012 03:41 PM

copied this from the new thread on this blank hull. Take a look at image 8. Looks like another cat sitting next to the whatever you want to call it sitting on a shorelander trailer.

Sorry, but I gotta call that guy out on that one. Why in the hell would anyone load a cat on a V-hull roller trailer? Jezzzzz And you want to know why the bottom is all craved up-----Dah. At least find a used cat trailer and modify it to fit the hull PROPERLY. $2500 yeah right.

I might call on this, if its a "extra light layup" it would make a interesting advertising sign hanging off the front of the building.

Bobby Moore did that @ his original Race Rock here in Michigan with the [AMERICAN DREAM, NIGHTMARE] Skater cat after it's racing days were done.. It too made a good canopy & sign for his restaurant.

Has anyone seen the boat in person and how good or bad is the hull? I wouldn't mind a cat project and know of a great donor boat.

The info passed to me was the guy who placed the ad (and assume owner of the hull) had done so. Given the logistics, your closer to that area then I. Sarcasim aside, you own a Skater?
