Afternoon project...got the billet platform / ladder installed |
Are those ET wheels?
|
Yea 28s.
last test was with 28 Bravo's. They were pigs. Witj The 275 hp tune got 5300 rpm @ 73 mph if I recall. Slip numbers were very very low. Like 5%. Max rpm currently is 6400 Gonna see what these will do. Should get the rpm up...but idk if the slip will be too much. I hear they run great on the shadow OB cats tho who knows...might see 80 with the right props. Gonna have to send ecms overseas to get the 325 hp tune now lol Might try the hill 28 4 blades of these don't pan out |
|
|
Colorful!!!!
|
🤣 this whole boat is "loud"
|
|
Killer!
Dont get any better than that. |
How fast did it run with those props?
|
I didn't gps it. But it's ALOT faster and handles better than with the 28 Bravo's. Even fully loaded. Was losing water pressure at 5200-5400 rpm...so i didn't get to really run it too hard. But man its really pulling hard when tje alarm goes off...can really feel it lifting and packing air...then it goes into guardian. Never runs hot tbo. My side pickups are only half blocked. Gonna block em all and run on tbe nose cone see what that does. My guess is itll top out bout 80 mph witj the 275 hp tune.
no porpoise...at all. Anywhere. Amazing lol |
Update: water pressure issue resolved. Stb engine had bad impeller.
Runs great witj all side pickups blocked tho. But was actually not needed at 1/2 inch above bottom. So I'll prolly unplug some of em |

Lil dress up.... painting top caps silver also https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...1b0cda36ea.jpg |

Just figured I'd stop in and give an update...Been running the hill eagle 4 props couple times out this year. Great performance. Planes great. Acceleration is good....but I think I could do without the extra blade. The extra lift is giving a little porpoise where as the 3 blade eta had zero at any speed. Will get some good long wide open runs when all the trash in the lakes around here clears out. 🙄

Hey people...winter time and im bored.. lol
325hp whipple tune has been installed. Engines are now white instead of black. Gonna be testing when the weather breaks. Hope all is well |
Very cool!
I bet the white motors make it pop! Amazing what you can do when you’re willing to paint your motors. When I got my new 250’s for my Sonic in ‘99, they were gun metal gray. I painted them white then striped them to match the Sonic colors. The looked great! BTW, the next yr those motors were white from the factory 😂 I remember calling on Deep Impact 15 yrs ago and they were painting, as a customer upgrade, the new Verado OBs. First I had seen from a mfg and was a huge, visual improvement!

Oh no doubt man...the white motors were a must have.
I remember your 24 sonic. Thing was a masterpiece man. I remember reading about you guys sleeping in it in the keys for a week or something. Was so jealous lol Im hoping for a 6 to 8mph gain from the tune....50hp more per side should easily net an 8 to 10% increase in mph in a cat with a 20% increase in total power |

Love it!
Nice job dude!

I know that it is strong enough, but to me man that looks like a lot hanging of a little tiny mount! I mean the motor plate itself is only 2/3 on the bracket, I just thing of when you see a massive number 6 drive broke. Either way have you had a chance to run it yet?

Lol man I know what you mean.. the verado is huge. But its really not that much heavier than some of the other big boys. This will be my third season running it. Ive had the boat 5 feet out the water at 60mph ...ive run it at 80 on Cumberland poker run weekend. Blasted through water so rough it busted over the bow lol. These hulls have crazy amount of glass in em. It had twin 1000 hp blown 540s in it for 10 years before i bought it from my buddy...ran 135 mph. Theres not even stress cracks anywhere in the gel. When we did The transom on this boat we built it to hell. The knees on the inside are massive and there's 3/8 aluminumplate on the inside sandwiches the transom. The jack plates are z lock with four 5/8 bolts holding them on. ...the only way for it to fail is rip those out or break em...or for it to push through itself and shear 6 six1/2 inch bolts. It could happen. But it'd have to be some wild water and ridiculous driving...and I hope im not onboard for any of that lol |

Ive added 50hp per engine ...so im.shooting for 5mph gain maybe??? |
Can I net a 6% increase in speed from An 18% increase in hp? All things being equal this seems doable especially in a cat. Im hoping for 5 to 7 mph :)
|
Ive seen a couple verados flashed to 460hp lately.....

Unfortunately the boat doesn't have enough setback to go with a higher x dimension :( and my mph isn't high enough to use sport master lowers. Im Running torque master with side pickups blocked.
