79.7 mph is best ive recorded so far with the 26 hill eagle 4. But these props Im running aren't as fast as the merc ets I had on it before. The hills handle better, are more stable , plane faster, turn better and cruise speed is better...but i think the mph is little off...just don't know how much exactly cus my gps speedo was acting crazy it turns out. But you can feel it. 28 ets turned 6300 rpm. 26 Hill eagle 4 turned 6100. My guess is 3 -4 mph. But you know how that is lol
Ive added 50hp per engine ...so im.shooting for 5mph gain maybe???

Can I net a 6% increase in speed from An 18% increase in hp? All things being equal this seems doable especially in a cat. Im hoping for 5 to 7 mph

Lol man I know what you mean.. the verado is huge. But its really not that much heavier than some of the other big boys.
This will be my third season running it. Ive had the boat 5 feet out the water at 60mph ...ive run it at 80 on Cumberland poker run weekend. Blasted through water so rough it busted over the bow lol. These hulls have crazy amount of glass in em. It had twin 1000 hp blown 540s in it for 10 years before i bought it from my buddy...ran 135 mph. Theres not even stress cracks anywhere in the gel. When we did The transom on this boat we built it to hell. The knees on the inside are massive and there's 3/8 aluminumplate on the inside sandwiches the transom. The jack plates are z lock with four 5/8 bolts holding them on. ...the only way for it to fail is rip those out or break em...or for it to push through itself and shear 6 six1/2 inch bolts. It could happen. But it'd have to be some wild water and ridiculous driving...and I hope im not onboard for any of that lol

What is your X dimension? I read above that you were 1/2 above the surface with plenty of water pressure. If you can raise the motors to be 1 to 1 1/2" above the bottom (at a minimum) you will gain more 7 to 10 mph.

Unfortunately the boat doesn't have enough setback to go with a higher x dimension and my mph isn't high enough to use sport master lowers. Im Running torque master with side pickups blocked.
