Heading to pick up the boat...

Man I am PUMPED!

I will be leaving the office in a little while to head down to Jacksonville to water test the boat.

It has been down there since December and the wife and I are really pumped about getting our baby back home!

Dropping it in the St. Johns in the morning to water test and have a lunch run with some buddies down there then heading back to N.C.

Looks like the weather might be pretty this Sunday so we plan to run it Sunday on Lake Norman!

I will keep you all posted on how she does!

Dock,

I am VERY interested to see what kind of speed numbers you are getting with the power upgrade. As you know I should be around 750/side. Since I didn't have a chance to drive my boat before the purchase (it had a blown motor so I got a killer deal) I need some idea where you will be with the new power numbers. Didn't you say your at around 600/side.

Keep us posted !!!

Thanks guys,

The trip to Jacksonville went great. We ran the boat for just under two hours with the Merc scan tool hooked up to both engines and all was good.

It was nice to see accurate your gauges are, or are NOT and to see what you burn in gallons per engine.

Except for the heavy thunderstorms that I pulled back through Friday night North of Columbia the trip went smooth.

The wife and I spent all day Saturday completely detailing the boat 100% and she looks brand new.

We went out on Norman today for about two hours and the boat ran GREAT. The mid range is awesome and she jumps right up to the rev limiters with the 26 labbed props we have been running.

I have never had a boat before that was under proped until now. She is begging for bigger props!

You know your boat sounds great when the ladies on the dock at the local resturant put their fingers in their ears when you crank it!!!!!!!!!!

Plan to try some labbed 28's and a set of 30's and see what we get.

Will keep everyone posted

I'm getting some new props lined up to try now.

Found a pair of stock 28's, a pair of labbed 28's and a pair of 28's that have been reworked up to 30's.

Will not have any of them until next week.

The best ever I had seen on the boat was 74 MPH GPS before the rebuild.

Friday when we put the engines through their paces with the stock 26's I had been running, with three guys, full load of fuel and flat water we saw 71 MPH on the rev limiters.

The boat really feels under propped at this point.

I expect to be able to push the 28's no problem and that should give me 4-5 MPH hopefully.

Beginning to think I should push the rev limiter up to 5500 RPM also.

Will keep everyone posted.

How much throttle do you think you had left when you were on the limiters?? Just curious. I am so anxious about getting mine back together and in the water. Unfortunately it won't be till the end of May at this point. I am hoping for at least a solid 80-82 mph. I hopefully will be between 1400 and 1500 total HP, we'll see what Tylers dyno says in a couple of weeks.
