FWIW - I had a 2000 232 with a 7.4 MPI / Bravo 1 setup with a Mirage Plus 23P and was consistently between 58 - 63 @ WOT (speedo, not GPS). The only mod was a K&N flame arrestor from Rexmar.

Re: 232 prop ?

We have sold several 232's with the 6.2l. The 19p mirage usually runs 58-60 on the speedo with a very good time to plane, this is the set up Baja ships the boat with. On most of the ones we sell we get rid of the 19 and put on a 21p mirage. Time to plane is still pretty good and top end increases to 63-65 on speedo. Hope this helps.

Your probably running 1.5 gears,, and with the numbers you posted your slip comes out to be 6%... I would say nearly impossible,, slip w/ my 96 232 and a 23 mirage plus was around 12 %. I was seeing 58-60 at 4,600 rpms with 7.4 300 hp.

These numbers don't seem to make sense either,,, what are the rpms's this motor is turning when your seeing 58-60 ?? you would have to be running at around 5,500 rpms to get those kinds of speed from a 19 pitch with a 12 % slip... but then again my speedo is off by 6 mph at WOT,, so maybe pol katt's GPS #'s aren't that far off... If thats the case,, these boats are pretty slow w/ the small blocks ???

The numbers I posted are going off of the SPEEDO, maybe that is why the slip % is not making sense to you.RPM'S are normally around 4700-4800 with the 19p, 4500-4600 with the 21p.

Re: 232 prop ?

I currently have a 1996 232 with the 7.4 carb engine in it, with 2 people and 1/2 tank of fuel the best I saw was 62.6 on the gps. This was done with a 21p Mirage Plus and against the rev limiter the entire time. I am getting ready to try a 23p to lower the revs some and I will post the results when done.

p.s. Can tell me my prop slip. 21p, 62.6 mph (gps), 1.5 ratio outdrive, and about 4800 rpms

Impossible,,, slip works out to 1 %... you would have to be turning 5,300 to get a 10% slip and even that is a bit low..

I had the same exact boat running a 23 mirage plus @ 4,600 rpms and 58-60 mph..

We currently have a 232 with 496(mag) Mirage 23p that Huston Propeller worked on. We run 69mph (speedo) 4900rpm(tach) all day every day.
