when to replace water pumps

My 38 Special is 5 years old and both water pumps looks quite rusty, seems to leak a little bit even so I can't see any water drops.

I have never replaced them before they started to leak.

The ones on the 500EFI's are three years old and still going good. But on the last boat with the 502 the pump did not make it two seasons.

It is probably time.

replace the rubbers and the block pumps to have a worry free season.
