Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
I am thinking of moving up to a 30 outlaw and would like some info on performance. What speeds are you getting? What power do you have? Hows the ride--if you can compare to a 25 Outlaw ( I have never ridden in a 30 )
Thanks in advance |
Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
Not exactally what you are looking for but I moved from a 226es (simmilar to a 240) to a 29 Outlaw. I can tell you that the ride is soooo choice! Plus going from a single to a twin. Man you will never go back. I look for big rollers and lake chop just to "see" if it will be rough. Man it is not! Go for it! But get as much power as you can afford. 496 mags will probably not be very muck fun. Mag HO's would be better. I run 454 mags, 385 HP ea and see 74 mph.
If you are willing to look at a 29 Outlaw, Advantage, a member here has a super nice boat and it is in the classified section. I'll post a link. |

Showdown
A friend of mine just bought a 30 outlaw. He's not online. If you would like to speak to him personally I'll give you a phone number. Neil |
Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
I know I've read a lot of pros and cons about the 30 on
teambajamarine.com Lots of interesting stuff about that boat. You may be able to find the info you're looking for there. |

Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
I also like the looks of the green and blue one--same graphics as my 25. Is that the one you have on boat trader?
|
Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
Have heard 80-82 mph speedo with HO's, does anyone have gps readings?
|
Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
No way 80 mph with HO's mabey 75, but not 80. Probaply under 75 with HO's. I looked at one at Ugly John's on Grand Lake, in OK. It had HO's and the salesman was saying mid 70's. Drove it, drove a 29 Outlaw, bought a 29 Outlaw. Saved $80K, my 29 is faster with littler motors and less tax. Plus I did get what I wanted. Right colors, right condition, all the performance stuff done. Had a flat screen TV, you know the kind of stuff you can't get on a new one.
In my experience in buildingstuff, I have found it is ALWAYS cheaper to buy it already done than to do it yourself. |
Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
The blue/green is a 2005 with twin HO's.....the green/blue is a 2004 and it has twin 496 MAGS. I have boated with both of them and they are awesome rides.

Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
Both of the 30 Outlaws are in boat trader....the 30 with the HO's is a 78 mph ride... I hit 74 with the Mags in the 04 30..

Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
I have a 30 also.
Just put it on boattrader last night. Wife says its too big and doesn't like launching it. So we are going to downgrade over the winter. The 30 is an awesome boat. Handles great, looks fantastic, and goes like a bat out of hell. I was seeing 77.8 gps on a poker run with full fuel, heavy load and 4 adults last August. 79-80 is easily attainable with stock HO's. |
Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
Saleen,
What are you going to downsize to? |
Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
We had an '04 25 outlaw and upgraded to an '05 30 outlaw in January. The 30 rides and handles so much better. Wave and wakes that used to get the 25 out of the water are like speed bumps in the 30. We have twin 496 ho's and have gone 80 mph. The boat seems to like running between 60 and 70 shich fine for the lake. You'll really like the 30
|
Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
I also have an 04' 25 Outlaw--I'm just a little worried about the beating I will take on the trade
|
Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
Everyone I have talked to that has HO's is seeing the upper 70's (gps) bone stock. I have talked to one guy who has some minor mods and labbed props ( don't ask what props ect, cause I don't know) and he is seeing 80-81 all day long and hit 83 on the tattle tale. I want to see what one with 575's will do dialed in. Upper 90's ?

A friend of ours traded down from a 2001 29 w/496's to a 2005 275 w/496ho, and a motor home...........he lasted 15 hours in it....... sold the motor home. He's now in a new 33. It's very hard to go down :D |

It's very hard to go down :D I hate to even think about it, but I told her I would give it a shot for a month or so to see if we got any interest. I doubt it though. The 30's seem to be a very slow seller. Take a look at Hawkeye's web site and see what they have moved this year. http://www.hawkeyeboatsales.com/newboats.cfm#baja They have sold 3 new 33's and no new 30's. That should tell Baja something. Overpriced? Bad cabin layout? Showdown, I got $55k for my trade last July with 60 hr on it. All the typical options. Had some dealers that were willing to give more, but they wanted more for the 30 too. Good luck |
Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
Saleen,
What are you asking for yours? How many hours? Do you have a picture? |
Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
I upgraded from a 04 245 to a 05 30 Outlaw. The 30 is an awesome boat. I was just out yesterday on Lake Michigan with strong winds and 2-4 chop. Drove hard going 60 plus and it handled great. Awesome boat. Top speed 74 gps 1/4 gas and me. 72 gps full tank of gas and 4 people. Stock 496 mags runs very strong. Not to big to trailer and handles very good.

Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
Can you post a picture? You can e-mail me the picture if not at [email protected].
To all, How much room do the dealers have on the price of the 30's? What have the people that have bought them had to give? I would like to know whether or not the dealer is treating me fair. |
Re: Calling all 30 Outlaw Owners
I personally think the dealers have the same margins on the 30 as any other boat in the Baja lineup.
When I bought mine, I used that same way of thinking(25% off MSRP) when it came to time to purchase as I did with my 25. If I remember right, I paid just over 25% off plus tax, license and setup. |
