Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
Personally I don't move or delete them if they are regular members, If its spam or a dealer, I delete it. I enjoy staying updated on whats for sale and whos selling what and how much it is going for, So I say let it stay
How bout a poll, and the winning vote will be what happens, whatever you guys want http://www.teambajamarine.com/forum/...ead.php?t=4298 |
Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
I don't speak much around here but I voted yes. I would like to say so far it has not been a problem in my opinion. I trust your judgement and agree with your thinking not to let it get out of hand.
Keep up the good work |
Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
I say leave them. I'm boat shopping right now and it allows me to have conversations with potential sellers without having to take time for dirrect phone calls. I don't always have time for calls during the day and I am west coast so there's a time diff on east coast boats for sale. Plus it allows me to see input from other, unbiased (and sometimes biased!) boaters.
I can ask general questions and take my time thinking things trhough that is sometimes hard to do in a phone conversation. Plus whe the section is slow it gives me something to browse through, like a Baja magazine on line. |
Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
What's being done in the other owner's forums? I say consistency is the best policy.
I do agree, I enjoy seeing what boat are available from "participating" members of OSO. But where do you draw a fair line? Buck |
Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
Leave em, cuz my boats coming up for sale :D
|
Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM

Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
Your doing a fine job.
|
Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
Let them stay if it gets out of control then you can start axing them. I like to see all the boats for sale so I can dream of what I may have in the future.

Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
i say is ok if the person paid for the ad in the classified section like i did meaning im not looking for a freebe and i just want to let let the baja brothers know in case they know of a friend looking for one,and move or delete the spam or dealer crap but that is just my opinion.

buck 183,your avatar rules.

Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
I voted yes. Its a good way to see the "new" boats listed for sale, learn about some of them, get opinions and to keep us updated! :chimp:

Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
Yes here
|
Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
Its looking like they are staying so far, and like I said 1 thread for an individual is ok by me but spam or multiple threads by an individual or dealer will probably self destruct just like all of DUOCOMPUTES post

Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
OSO is a business, the rules were put in place for a reason as was the classified ad section. If someone has something to sell then pay for the ad like everyone else following the rules. If you feel compelled then post a link to it.

Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
I say leave them on if they're members.
I've never visited a classified section on any boat or car forum. They get no action at all. Boattraderonline.com and Ebay are the only places I go. |
Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
I think the answer is obvious if you read every post in this thread. Sometimes people that might not even be thinking about buying might spark interest if they stumble upon something in here, where they probably wouldnt have ever seen it because they wouldnt be browsing the classifieds.
Ive posted something in the General Discussion area on TBM, because I wanted as many people as possible to see it. But, it got moved to the "appropriate" category ( ) so I never got any responses because those other categorys dont get read as often. And it was nothing to even do with buying or selling! |
Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
So now that this is settled, is anyone going to buy my boat? It really needs a new home before winter gets here and I procharge it. PLease help my marriage and buy this boat.

Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
Well it looks like they are gonna stay , as long as its a new post, and a member. no thread jacking
|
Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
I agree, let them stay. Liquid, you know which are spammers and which are not.
As for TBM not liking it ... does anyone care? Letting that influence my decision would be like Baja changing to a stepped hull because Fountain does. Blake does things his way and thats ok. But "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." |
Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
Please leave them.
I try hard to support all the sites with membership, buying shirts, hats etc. and I think it is VERY PETTY when they delete them. Thank you |
Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
I do to doc and they r here 2 stay
|
Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
I do to doc and they r here 2 stay, I just noticed someone using us for an example of what a boating website should not be and used our baja forum for an example, about allowing classifieds, so I let you guys vote so, they will stay :evilb:

Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
My 2 cents. Bought my boat on the opions of members of this site. Bought it without even riding in one. 25 Outlaw with a HP500. Couldn't be happier with it.
There is a wealth of knowledge and an abundance of willingness to help with our members. I say reguler members and no dealers or thread jackers. It's great discussion otherwise |
Re: Should I enforce the classifieds rule? It bugs Blake at TBM
I say leave them because I have one, but I agree they should have it classifieds too. They all need to be in one place for sure! That way you won't miss a really great 36 for sale. See all white 36 in classifieds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
