Can't Beat The Ride In A 25 Outlaw Thats For Sure!!

I have first hand experience with a Sunsation and they are a great boat. STOP! I am a Baja owner so don't get your panties in a wad! A 288 Sunsation with a HP 500 will run an honest 75 MPH. I have seen it time and time again. They are as equal, if not a better ride than a 25 outlaw. Not that a 25 Outlaw is not a nice boat, just would be curious to know what the Outlaw was running for power and what the Sunsation was running for power.

Sunsation does not show me much.

Had a good friend on Norman to become a dealer about two years ago for Sunsation. He could not give them away.

He almost killed himself and the three others on board in a 32. I have never seen a boat chine walk so violently in my life. We were off his port side and he was only running about 70 MPH and crossed a large cruiser wake and lost it. Still do not know how they did not flip over. You would have had to see it to understand. This was the same 32 that was in the magizine ads and had the electric console that went up to access the cuddy. It was NOT stable at 90+ MPH according to the owner, and he had the "X" dimension lowered and slowed the boat down for safety.

My friends that were riding in the back own a 29 Outlaw and they rode back with us. They wanted OUT of the boat.

The Sunsation also has a narrower beam.

I have developed my opinion on Sunsation, fair or not and it is not good.

Just MHO

Ive got a buddy with a 288 that has a whippled 454 and runs a little over 80mph. No chine walk, and very stable at that speed.

Here is a 288 on Norman with a Whippled 496HO running over 80 MPH.

The owner is very happy with the boat.

He does NOT have hydraulic steering which I think is a mistake.

As for build quality they seem to be a good boat.

This is the boat we saw almost roll.

My wife saw it first, she SCREAMED and then I saw what was happening and you could hardley see the boat for all the spray.

The boat on the left is the one that almost rolled. This is the hull that has 4 to 5 steps in it. It has twin 525's and was VERY fast.

The one on the right was the standard hull design with twin small blocks and only ran about 70 MPH.
