Outlaw 29 7.4/310HP Fuel Usage

Looking to get into something a bit bigger. Recently sold a Donzi Sweet 16 w/V6. I am wondering what type of fuel usage I can expect running in the mid 30's on a lake? With fuel prices in the $3.50 range I am wondering .......
Thanks.

i never clocked it, but my 29 with 310's got MUCH better mileage than my 36 with 500's.

I have the 385 hp motors. I can burn about 75-85 gallons on a 75 mile trip @ 45 MPH running 3200-3500 RPM

I would think you would get a lot better than that. those are fuel injected right?

Man, something is wrong with your rig... maybe it's time for a tune up... :D 1 mile per gallon is WAY HIGH for twin 385's MPI's

OK... so is it 1.25 ,1.5mpg? Better? If I run 30 miles up and down the lake at a steady/average 35-40mph what might the usage be?

OK.. so how reliable is BoatTEST.com

Tested by Capt. Ron Svoboda

Hammering down the Mercury Racing throttles, the Outlaw accelerated quickly to a top speed of 70.8 miles per hour at 4850 rpm. In order to get the most efficient cruise speed you will have to back the throttles down to 3500 rpm. This will result in fuel economy of 1.52 miles per gallon while traveling 52.5 miles per hour. So properly equipped, the new 30 Outlaw will provide even the most jaded offshore enthusiast with a great ride!

I'd say 1.7 to 2 mpg with 7.4 mpi's

I think that would be a good guess.

I would guess my 36 with 500's getting 1 mpg.
