Do not understand that?

I do not know of anyone with a 33 that is not running four blades. Actually Baja shipped them out with 4 blades.

My '98 33 had 3 blade bravos, tried 4 blades, they didn't work at all. Lost 5 mph. Mine had low x also.

33 rides better...LOL
Common sense would tell you the weight and footage the 36 would ride better. But...there are varabiles to each boat that makes a world of difference. Driver experience, tabs, drive height, props.

I bought a set of bravo 1 four blades for my 33 while my 3 blades were in the shop getting labbed. Mercury Racing said "DO NOT PUT THOSE 4 BLADES ON YOUR BOAT". Man were they right. I was embarrassed to have people ride with me at LOTO

What did the boat do?Was there too much stern lift?Bow lift? What pitch 3 blade were you running, then what pitch 4 blade did you go to.

outlawinil 02-21-2007 08:52 AM

Plowed water like a submarine. Too much stern lift and zero bow lift. When you run in rough water like the Ozarks during Labor Day you want to ride the top of the waves, not through the waves. 4 blades may be fine for those guys that want to brag about how many blades they have but if they ever compare they will see a difference. Bravo 26 4 blades - 69mph Mirage 27 3 blades - 76mph

Just out of morbid curiosity,,,,, did you try reversing rotation to see what happens?

A friend of mine has a 99' 33, he runs his "in",
he has a set of 3 blades, and a set of 4 blades
and the three blades are still faster than the
4 blades on his boat.

That's very interesting guys. I had never given it any thought before. Most I have seen had 4 blades, but it is a fact that you loose speed with more blades unless you have a really hig "X" dimension.

Thanks

I have got my new boat over the winter and have not had it in the water yet. New ride is a 98 33 OL with HP 500's. Has anyone tried 4 blade hydromotives? I know that a 4 blade hydromotive on my 98 25 OL made a huge improvement

Everyone seems to point to the three blades as being the fastest on the per 2001 year models.
