Difference in ride

Curious about the difference in ride in say a 272 and a 25 Outlaw with same motors (496mag ho). Doesn't the 272 have an integrated swim platform which counts towards the length. Are the hulls not somewhat different. Curious.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

I have riden in and driven both in all conditions, and they are VERY similiar in ride quality. Pick the style you like best and enjoy.

I am a fan of the Outlaw series but my opinion is that the 272 rides a little better then the 25 outlaw. I owned a 25 outlaw and my friend had a 272, I have also driven both and felt that the 272 was a little smother. But on the other had my 25 was faster and the difference in the ride was not enough to stop me from buying the 25 over the 272. Like dock said you have to pick out the style that you want.

Good luck hope this helps.

Ok i have owned a 272 for 151 Hrs ...and a 25 Outlaw for 625 Hrs .....and the result is .....hand down for the Outlaw ...Looking ...speed ...and handling the rough ....Good Luck.....hope that help

I thought the hulls were the same. I personally like the cabin room and the integrated deck on the 272's. Good thing I have one, huh. I like The windscreen on mine better than the windshield, it gives it more of an Outlaw look.

Outlaw has a notched transom and sits lower in the water at speed. holeshot is slower than a 272 and is a tad slower on top speed, too (we ran our two boats back to back with the same 496HO power and the 272 always got the lead on me!)
I think the Outlaw is a little better in rough water and will probably handle more power with less drama.

I think the 25 has got a couple more layers of glassfiber in one or two places, as well.

However, I agree with doc, the difference is so very little that you have to decide on which LOOK you like best - Outlaw, 272 or Shooter.

Clever guys at Baja worked that one out better than any other boatbuilder!
