38 Special Boat Cover (new)
I just bought a new factory 38 special boat cover for my Fountain. The cover almost fit, but not quite. In any event, I'll let it go for a reasonable price if someone wants to buy it.
send me a p.m. if you're interested.

The factory cover (assuming you can find one) for the 38 Lightning is about $1200. I purchased the 38 Spec. cover from a Baja dealer for $250. I had luck with a 36 outlaw cover I purchased for my old boat, a 35 lightning. Unfortunately, I didn't get lucky this time.

Hey Dennis,
Thanks for the info.
As far as the boat goes...Engines are complete. We tore them both down to bare blocks and built them back up replacing what seems like everything. We also took the time to have most every part done to the smallest bracket sandblasted and either painted or powdercoated. We took everything out of the bilge including transom assemblies and trim tabs and have gone through every electrical connection, every seal, every gasket. We had some work done on the transom and stringers as the older Baja's seem to be sub par in that area. Since the engine cover/sunpad was off I went ahead and deskinned it and rebuilt and glassed the wood frame and reskinned(Our old 272 had shown some wetness in the wood so while we're at it ) Tommorow we are repainting the bilge and shall start the reassembly process on Monday. We are hoping to have the boat back in the water for next weekend but have several late nights this week to make it happen. Sorry to have missed you guys last weekend but had to work on the boat. I am starting to think that we don't know when to say when. All this over one blown motor See you soon
