Solar panels?

Anybody have any experience with using solar panels to help charge the batteries while chilling out rafted up all afternoon? Seems like a good idea and reasonably priced...

If they don't work, looks like you could still fry up some eggs on there

It is an excellent idea- they are the answer for long anchorages and peace of mind in general. My solar panel became one of the most important items on my boat- I could anchor for a WEEKEND w nonstop tunes, etc and never have a worry about enough juice to crank. Wired it directly to one of the batts. I put a couple of pieces of heavy duty velcro on the back of it so I could stow it while underway. (the one shown is about 8 x 30 and cost about 80 bucks in '97)

I'll never have a boat without one.

*****in, I've got an Amazon gift certificate anhow, they've got the same panel on there. At least if I use that and it doesn't work I wasted somebody else's money on it.
