25 OL 425hp vs 375hp
Has anybody driven both boats... late model, 2001- 2005? I am curious about the performance differences.
I have read that there is little top-end difference (not sure about that), but what about out of the whole? I am asking because I have found a couple pretty sweet, super clean 25s, but both with smaller power. Thanks in advance! |
about 3 mph, and yes you get out of the hole quicker.
|
there are alot of 25s in good shape out there. you will find the one you want.
|
I had both. If I had the choice I'd choose the 425. But the 375 is still impressive! 3-4 mph top end is about right. hole puch? did not really saw a big difference but never really tested both on that subject... just driving them around...

I've run my 25 powered by the 496mag next to a couple 25's with HO"s, and there's not really any difference other than if I'd bought an HO from the dealer it would've cost me several thousand more. As I said in another thread, the only difference is a cam and tune (on the ECU).
I've got my 2005 25OL for sale in the classified's here  |
True, couple miles an hour faster with the HO. Out of the hole I have not really felt a difference seat of the pants. I did notice the cruise speed was a tad better as well at equal RPM. HO motor has a 5000rpm rev limiter and the mag is at 4800rpm.
Keep in mind that you will also get the Bravo X drive with the HO motor. |
Thanks everyone!
Based on the responses, either motor would work for our needs... I would prefer the X-drive, though. Thanks again, Tom |
I might be wrong on this but I thought that some of the internals were different between the two such as a different crankshaft and such. But I do know that the HO version should have better resale value along with an X drive. Good luck in your search, they're pretty cool boats.
