29 Outlaw single weight

Does anyone know how much a single engine 29 OL weighs? I'm wanting to stick to one engine so it's between this and a Nordic as far as looks go. I'm trying to figure how big an engine i'll have to put in it to run 80's. I'd hate to go slower than I do know. It's probably not feasible but i would like to stay with a Baja.

NADA has it listed as 5575

FOR SPEED YOUR , your drive will need to be mod, like a max worx upgrade, I am running mid 80s when propped right with about 670hp 2'' shortie drive, 24 ol 4000lbs. I would think a 750 to 850 motor= a 598 800hp na or a 509 blower 750hp to 850hp 871 to 1071 blower motor would get the 29 to 80. theres more room in the baja than the other boat you were looking at. another nice ride is a new 05 and up 31 sutphen wt is 5000lbs with a b1 drive 509 850hp 871 blower with intercooler 84gps and by far one of the best rough water boats I have been in. lots of room. also theres a deal on JOKERS 28 blank hull right now and it handles rough water like the sutphen and with 850hp will break a 100gps. so theres 3 options the sut and baja have a lot of room for 39 and 30ft boats.

There was a 29 ft single in our area years ago,850 hp blower motor, ran high 70's to low 80's,couldn't keep a drive together BUT that was in the late 90's before the xr stuff and max worx was around,Smitty

Yeah, That is a heavy boat. Maybe go 30' and two engines. My garage is only 36' deep and I need to keep it that length. I guess I'll just shine on my turd another year!

Buy a twin 29 & build another motor like you have now to put in there with yours.

kennyo, I have thought along the same lines for a few years now. Would like the size of a 29 but with the fuel appetite of a single engine. I occasionally do a search for a single engine 29 but rarely turn one up. An engine like yours or even a baby 496 stroker like mine should fit nicely in the huge engine compartment of a 29 with plenty of room for wrenching.

Hope to make our river trek to Nashville next year. Amy and I have a new baby boy (Stone) born on July 4th. His arrival slowed our boating down this year but we are already looking forward to next season.

There are alot of single 29's at LOTO. I would like one myself with big power but you would need a high $ drive to go with it. They are pigs with stock power. Mu buddy had one and it was a mid 50's boat with a 502.

320es, Just curious....Was the 502 factory installed (OE)? Did it have standard Bravo drive and transom assembly? Standard or hydraulic steering?

Just trying to figure out how Baja dressed the single 29s.

Kennyo, i hope i'm not repeating something. Not sure if you want a single to build up or for fue eff. If you are trying to save on fuel...

We had and 2002 29 with 6.2's. Dont remember the pitch prop but 3blade Merc, slight cup change and trimmed 1/4 small dia. Boat jumped out of the water 2 people or 12 people no tabs needed. RMP would Rev up quick with the smaller prop. Top speed was 68 or 69 after prop work. Never gpsed again for 4 years.

boat couldn't blow out the props. I could let just about anyone drive wihtout worry.

We took it to LOTO every year for a week to my moms house till last summer after we sold it. We would run on 1 tank for a week cruising around. Not much WOT but fast enough to get plenty of air time.

29 with 6.2s can be had pretty resonable an still preform very well for small block in a big boat!!
