Dock is right. I built them myself. I could not justify the expense of the billet stuff and wanted something different. Took me a couple days to work out the design and then about a day to build them. I used 10" PVC pipe and aluminum. |

barretei on the dyno it was 750 but when i got it in the boat with the cmi,s it was only pushing about 4lbs of boost i played with the pulleys then i had to up a few jets in the carbs so some where between 750-800 hp in the end i had it set at about 7lbs and the best i ever got was 96mph with the GPS i had a xr with a short imco lower, wpm steering and eddie k planes.motor work was done by Simonek local guy in jersey does good work the motor never skipped a beat always idled always started and ran like hell it was in a 99 sst outlaw i called it under pressure.
thanks tony |
Now that is how an upgrade plan should run!
And what a cool motor. Normally you donīt think of an any Outlaw as being a sleeper...but that had to be the ultimate, at least on relatively calm water. I always say that our boats need a little bit of chop to perform, but at that speed I wouldnīt want any skew wakes to catch me out, at all! I was lucky enough to ride with Johnny Tomlinson in the Cigarette Kilo boat in January 2006. Skip, Bud and himself were doing setting up runs, still running 1075īs . He said he would show me 120 mph on the GPS, and thats what I saw. He had already done a 135 mph run, on his own, and was logging up seat time to prepare for the kilo run, with the real motors! In capable hands and sitting under the canopy of a 47 footer, I experienced how a boat behaves at this speed crossing relatively minor chop, and how Johnny would catch every movement with a flick of the wheel and hold the purpose built lightweight boat steady. It was easy to imagine what a lilī25OL would be doing at 20 or 30 less mph! On the run back to the ramp, we talked about my plan to upgrade the 25OL. He said a buddy of his had one, and that it was a great boat, and would handle the upgrade just fine. It is great to see a 25 going another 15 mph faster! Keep the upgrade stories coming! |
