I have seen two 36 Outlaws run 90 to 92 MPH with 850 HP per side.

Crayola Crazy (33 Outlaw) is pushing triple digits with 850 HP per side. But he does have a pad bottom which has to be worth a few MPH.

The 40 is another story. If I really wanted top end speed with a 40 OL I would opt for big twin power in the 1000HP range rather then triples. Just me.

I have found that it is pretty easy to build 900 HP, just hope it is as easy to get a drive to live behind it.

Yea, the way you are getting the HP is gonna be hard on stuff. You'll be better off than I am because you are more responsible with your right hand than I am.

Hell I am still trying to join the 80 mph club..haha. My wife wont approve with some nice new blue 525's....inplace of teh 496's...I supposedly bought the boat from me and my friends not the family........

We had a local dealer that had twin 900's in a 40 that barely cracked the 95 mark but that was after a lot of Lake X testing and even more tweaking. Don't know what ever happened to the boat though.

Whats up fellas My motors make 810 hp 5600 rpm 7.25 lbs boost I have to look at dino sheet to see torque no. 97 /98 full of fuel I,ve see 100 three times 99,5 a bunch of times I got 98 mile an hour boat. Im playing around with my center of gravity the boats 1.5 mph with people in the back seat be carefull how beefy a drive you run it could cancel out your hp I run xz uppers imco lower ,yes I can smash them at 3500 rpm,s I,ve only broke 4 since 02 and one of them I was stock

I'm with you as far as getting the 40 to go faster, however...

After running a triple, I have found there is 1 variable that HP just cant fix alone, that is efficiancy.

With having the 3rd drive lower in the water and the hull spitting the water out the back, the props appear to cut the water much more efficiantly, thus pushing the boat through the water.

I also think having the third motor sitting forward, the weight is better distributed. Now if twins w/staggerd stance were installed that too would help the issue.

We have also played with our x dimenssion and that too has made better speed.

Smaller triples do aquate to the same speed with less wear/break issues.

It sure will be interesting to see what Baja's new poker run boat will run with the 700's. I have been told there is ALSO many changes to the 40, weight savings, pad, notch etc. It's going to be a great next couple of weeks when it is shown /ran in public for the first time openly...
