Well My dad Got a new boat...
Well Haven't been over to my dads lately, but had heard he got a new boat, so went to go take a look at it today while he was at work...
2000 Baja Outlaw 33 with twin 500 Bulldogs (540's I believe) 200 or so hours 30 Pitch Bravo 1 4B Props. Really nice boat, Just curious of what you guys think the top speed of this boat is? Being that it has twin 500 Bulldogs and 30 Pitch Props...I was thinking at least 80? I've attached a few pictures of it.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...x/DSCF1698.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...x/DSCF1696.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...x/DSCF1695.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...x/DSCF1694.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...x/DSCF1697.jpg Let me know what you guys think and what you think that it should run top end Thanks |
few more

Hawkeye boat sales sold that boat new.
I don't think they( hawkeye) ever ran it. Should run low 80's Those Bulldogs have alot of build up potential, they can be easily brought up to the 650 hp range. |
boat looks real good:party-smiley-020: the motor look like 540 500hp that i see . i think you will hit 85 . you can go on bam site .mercruser they have chart you fill out it give you avrege speed .it pretty close.good luck it look like it be nice ride :boat:

I think over 80 might be a little strong unless the 540s are built more than bulldogs are.
There used to be a local 33 with ~675-700 hp that only did mid 80s. I would expect more like 77-78 or so. It takes a lot of power to make these hulls go fast. Just ask Doc Holiday. A super solid ride though. Mine is 71-72ish with stock 502mpis and headers. |
You need to hang out with your Dad more!

I e-mailed Jeff @ Hawkeye, asked him about it.
He said the best they got out of the boat was 84.6 mph. |

Sweet ride.
It looks very clean also. I have seen a couple of 36's with bull dogs but this is the first 33. Enjoy |
Good luck with the boat. A friend of mine owned it.They are deffenently 540 Bulldogs. He lives only3 miles from me, but I don't think we ever were on the lake at the same time. So I can't tell you anymore about performance.

Thats Cool! yeah I'll have to talk to my dad about the performance of it, Yeah its the only 33 I've ever seen with the Bulldogs So i'm sure the performance of it is awesome...The boat itself is in really good shape though! Everything on it is in mint condition! |
Well Was over at my dads tonight...Boat is pretty mean..Its loud! He said he's got it up to 82mph out here at the local lake with 30P bravo 1's he bought some 29P 5 blade hydromotives and he's gonna try those out..
He does have a pair of 30P Merc Labbed Bravo 1's for Sale if anyone is looking for a set we can work out a deal... and also he has another Looks like labbed 30P Bravo 1's but he backed up into a sandbar with them and the tips of the props are scratched up..not bad but they are scratched up....I can get pictures of either props if anyone is interested. But the boat sounds and looks good! |

I would guess based on my experience that he will loose top end with the five blades. Usually you drop down two pitch sizes as a rule of thumb when you go from four to five blade but the big problem will be the low X dimension. Keep us posted!:D |
I have a 98, 33 Outlaw I just rebuilt HP500's over the winter now 534HP on the dyno. Wet tested last Friday with the stock 25P Mirage props...79.9 on GPS at 5500RPM Need to do some prop testing myself..if anyone has a good starting point I will welcome suggestions.
Boat looks nice! |

Its definitely a wicked boat...should be going out on it next weekend.. |
Well just got back from the lake today on my dads boat...He bought some 29P Hydromotive P5 Props...and first time trying them out..it got out of the hole ALOT faster than the bravo 1 30's, mid range it cruised alot better..it was cruisin 60mph at 3500rpm...
we raced a 28ft nordic out there..burned him bad twice..it was funny..we got the boat up to around 82-83mph in choppy water...so all in all the Hydromotives worked really well!!! http://pontiacgto.info/outlaw33.jpg |
