The local dealer here on Lake Norman is getting out of Baja and has a nice 26 OL with an HO for sale. Bet they would wheel on it and get you in your price range.

Here is there web site even though it sucks:

Personally I am not sold on the new liner construction.

I think your money is better spent on a 25 Outlaw or a 29 Outlaw and also the 302. They are all three proven hulls and there are some really nice boats out there and some very good deals as well.

Happy shopping

Dock, I have heard there has been a few seperation problems on the 30's. Have you heard anything?

Yes there have been some warranty issues on several sizes of the new liner construction hulls.

I think Baja has figured it out and of course they are committed to making a good product but some boats were affected from the 23 OL up to the 405.

From what I have seen they have done a good job to make the customer happy and resolve the issue.

IF you buy a new 26 Outlaw, plan on keeping it for a while unless you wanna lose your ass. Depriciation is a *****!

You say you don't want a 29 or 30, but you will if you buy a 26'. I promise. Huge difference in cockpit space.

IMHO the cockpit is close to the same, the cuddy is the biggest difference on room. The dash on the 26 on the passenger side was moved forward and I feel you also more room than a 29 in that area.

I haven't paid much attention to the 26's but there is a ton of difference in cockpit room between the 25 and 29. How much bigger is the cockpit on the 26 compared to the 25?

The space difference on the 26 to the 25 is mostly the passenger side with the wall being pushed forward. When I sat in the passenger seat of our 25 my knees were just about in the radio. Same on the 29 that we had. The back seat spacing from the 25 to the 29 is some what better, but I wouldn’t go as far as calling it a huge difference. I found that when we moved from our 25 to the 29, most of the room came in the cockpit. The storage areas when you enter the cuddy and the forward facing benches were bigger. Now the 33's cockpit is just about the same size as a 36 Outlaw. We did some measuring with a 36 that was tied up. I would say that the room difference in the cockpit on the 29 to the 33 we have now is HUGE.

I am not sure you will be right about depreciation, it is possible the 2009 year models will go up in price. I remember when Skip purchased Cigarette, some actually saw their boats appreciate due to new boat prices going up really fast. Just something to think about, I don't think Fountain is going to lower the prices?? 2008 may be the best year to buy a BAJA. just a thought

Hope it's better because I lost my ass on my 25' O/L.

When I said spacing from the 25 to 29, I meant from the rear bench to the rear of the bolsters, and the bolsters to the helm. In a 25 if someone's sitting on the rear bench behind a bolster and you hit a wave, they're knee's are destroyed by the bolster. I never wanted to take anyone out with me other than wife and 1 other passenger. With more than 2 it was just way too crowded. I can haul 20 people in the boat I have now, and we're all comfy and spaced out....
