Some people drink for fun I challenge my equipment, and can afford it .some people dont even own a boat and they want to talk smack.Back to my point that has nothing to do with paint If you want to target Baja people THE 39 has to come priced like Baja Im really starting to think its all a pipe dream. oyea my boat is the fastest 33 in the country.

Just my opinion:

1) Brand New Company
2) Unknown product & Builder
3) Depressed Market
4) Price Point target market unknown?

What makes a great offshore boat company?

A winning RACING heritage!

If they really want to make a go of this new product they have to RACE IT and Win!

Since it is based off the Skater "Spiderman" boat and since I hear that Todd Welling is involved I say if they build a nice product, the entry price point is good and they do a nice job campaigning it on the race curcuit and win that they will easily establish themselves and gain a lot of respect in the industry.

Easier said then done but just my opinion.

Without racing they will have a tough time getting anyone to drop $250K and up in a start up boat company.

I hope it does happen and I wish them the best of luck.

It's exciting watching people take chances in this country. Without that we would not know this sport or the great names like Don Aronow or Reggie Fountain.

Thanks for the last post Dock, We have a price point in mind but want to see where the general public would like to see this boat come into the market. We are a new company and have much to prove, but for us there is only up at this point.

Where does everyone want to see the price point? Should we come into the market with big power at a bargin or come to the market with a base boat at a base price? Or should we do both?

What do all of you think?

I'd say Dock pretty much hit the nail on the head. Except for a select few I would say this boat is going to be out of the average core Baja owner's budget. And to get taken seriously as a Cig/OL/Apache contender it will have to get out and run with those boats in the race circuits and kick serious arse with FACTION in big bold letters down the side of the hull. Which from all the excitement this hull has garnered over the years doesn't sound like it should be too hard to do provided it is built solid, fiinishes races and finishes high. Now the only problem is to find a somebody to write a big fat check and get some boats in the molds!

Wouldn't hurt to probably get the posts out of the Baja section, it may be the crew from the former Baja but it's not Baja anymore, time to seperate and make your own name.

P.S. - If this boat is going to be manufactured in the Bucyrus area I would love to be a volunteer shop boy/go fer/whatever you need help with. But not until after boating season!

:boat:

They need to be priced like boats were 10 years ago:D

The price increases over the last several years
is crazy.

I know that our former friends at Brunswick are
part of the problem.

But then again, if my annual income increased as much
as the new boat prices do annually , I probably wouldn't
care

Whatever becomes of it, it will be nice to see a
version of this in pleasure boat form.

I don't think Skater has produced many for
pleasure....maybe two ??
