That being said.... I doubt if you were in TRUE 4'ers, but 2-3'ers = 4-6' of wave face and seem pretty huge when your in them. That could easily break over your bow if you hit them just right (or wrong). That's bigger chit than I'd ever care to hang out in.

Take some video next time, so we can see what you saw.

I'm not retarded. I know the nose of my boat hangs about 4' above the water sitting still. If water breaks over the nose of the boat I'd say the waves were over 4'.
Now with that being said unless you were there you are guessing and making assumptions on your own experiences.
The park ranger that spoke with me today about the 3 people I fished out of the water Saturday was on duty that weekend & in his report he guestimated the wave heights to be 3-4'. It was his opinion. A professional who has been at that lake 15 years & is a native to Kansas.
