so 4' wave gives you 4' of crest and 4' of trough- this equals 8' of wave "face"
....always confusing/often debated but pretty much standard definition -at least in the surfing world.

So, a true 2' wave has 4' of wave face. a true 3' wave has 6' of wave face.
On a lake same would apply, except the sea-level part.

That being said.... I doubt if you were in TRUE 4'ers, but 2-3'ers = 4-6' of wave face and seem pretty huge when your in them. That could easily break over your bow if you hit them just right (or wrong). That's bigger chit than I'd ever care to hang out in.

Take some video next time, so we can see what you saw.

This makes the most sense so far!!!............................................ ...................................At least up to the point of finding someone dumb enough to hold on to a video camera, while riding in a 29' boat, doing 92mph in 2', 3', 4', or WTF ever waves!!!!!  :D.....:evilb::evilb:

LOL! I meant to just capture a shot or video of the conditions!

Now, if you want to continue to doubt me, load up your wagon & head up here on the next similarly windy day & EXPERIENCE it for yourself. Otherwise get yourself a big cup of shut the f*ck up. :drink:

I like to see steam come out Jason's ears!:evilb:

I'm sorry but this thread has got so far off track that I forgot how fast your boat runs. What is that top speed again?

Okay just so we can all be very clear was the bathtub at sea level?

I really hate to see you get steamed because when you do you remind me of a guy up north named T.B. Moron.

I'm not retarded. I know the nose of my boat hangs about 4' above the water sitting still. If water breaks over the nose of the boat I'd say the waves were over 4'.
Now with that being said unless you were there you are guessing and making assumptions on your own experiences.
The park ranger that spoke with me today about the 3 people I fished out of the water Saturday was on duty that weekend & in his report he guestimated the wave heights to be 3-4'. It was his opinion. A professional who has been at that lake 15 years & is a native to Kansas.

So the ranger said the wave heights were 3-4' so less than 4......I rest my case. If the nose of your boat is 4ft above the water then I'm sure it dips atleast 1 ft in the water when it hits a wave or atleast thats my experience with all my boats. My assumption was based on the fact that I was in 4's and there is no way you could have done 90+ in the water I was in. Not sure whats up with the personal insults......I'm only like the 6 guy so far that's said your full of it.
