23 Outlaw Question

I was wondering if anyone was happy or not with there 23. I've been looking into getting one. I have a 20 and had to have the hull replaced due to the liner seperating. Have the 23's had any of these problems? Any info would be great. Thanks

BAJA WILL 07-22-2008 08:42 AM

Some of the very first ones had a few problems but BAJA took care of them and corrected the problem. The 23 is so popular, we sold out of them back in March and havent been able to get another in. We are now waiting for FPB to build them.

You are the first I heard of a 20 Outlaw liner seperating?????????????? (that had not been in an accident) However for BAJA to replace the hull goes to show how well they stand behind their product.

My brother has one for sale. You will not find a cleaner one. His price is negotiable. Selling as a COMPLETE package. He is getting out of boating.

BTW ABSOLUTELY NO CRACKS. Hull and liner are perfect.

They took care of it without a problem, even got a different color hull and any graphics I wanted. Dave L. helped me out big time. Now I'm wanting something a little bigger.

We have a 2005 23 and have been very pleased with it. It is in showroom condition and still under warranty. We are currently trying to sell it to also move up. If you are interested I can send you the info.

I know this boat, and can vouch for its care and condition, I don't think its ever had the prop leave the water; all local river/lake boating.

have you try to git something fix now is it me or parts hard to cum by:party-smiley-048::party-smiley-048::party-smiley-048::party-smiley-048:

Go to the dealer you purchased the boat from, they should be able to help. If not let us know. As a dealer I can tell you we have only turned down one warranty claim this year, and it was because it was out of warranty.

Thanks sonic69,

The problems that some of the 23s had was very easy to correct. Don't be afraid to buy a 23ol that was repaired by the plant in Ohio. actually I think that would be a better boat anyway. The 23ol is probably my favorite boat in 1-3 footers, or larger swells to drive.
If anyone needs cockpit carpet for a 23/26 Outlaw in red, or blue let me know.

I maybe interested in the carpet for a 23 in red.

JasonSmith 07-29-2008 01:51 PM

My Aunt & Uncle just bought a new one & they really like it. I've driven it & it handles really nice & rides smooth for a 23' boat.
Theirs has the 496 Mag in it & runs about 63 with a stock propeller. I think I can get 65 out of it with some more seat time & a better propeller.

WOTW2E 07-29-2008 05:50 PM

If I ever decide to downsize, there is no doubt it will be to a 23outlaw. These boats are a blast. They handle great, take decent size water and are very responsive with 496 mag power. I always wanted to build one with a 525 just for grins.

Maybe some day....

65 should be no problem.

I was digging through my pics and found this. 23 Outlaw #002 with a 496 Mag showing 71 on the wish-o-meter, so subtract a few........:drink:

65 is probably going to be obtainable with some time, good air & water.
60 on an average day.

Twin-Kyle 07-30-2008 10:31 AM

My brothers ran 68.5(GPS) with a labbed 23 Mirage Plus. The prop was up pitched to a 24 then labbed. I have a labbed 25 Mirage Plus on my 25 Outlaw..I bet he would be closer to the 70 mark with my prop.

Tristar,

Maybe not the Pachanga, but when the first Hammer X pops the mold I can get a pic for you!!!! BTW, we confirmed that the Hammer X mold was at Fountain last week, so unless their are two molds (could be) ??????

From what I have gathered from other people, two molds for the hull were created, and one went down to Florida and resides at Sea Rays R&D center.

They also have decided on a production schedule at the Tellico TN Sea Ray plant, but other than that various sources have been quiet.

Forgive me, I always like trying to find out info about cars and boats before they surface for the public, and in the Pachangas case it is a boat Im going to consider purchasing; so that makes me that much more geeked up about it.

The more pics the better, Id love to see a production Hammer X when it gets popped.

The wife saw a 23OL at Cumberland and loved it so I guess the 2004 20 OL is for sale. If anyone knows someone looking I'll take 20g for it. It's basically new. Lake Cumberland Marine was trying to sell me a 03 26 Sonic Prowler but I don't know much about them.

All that work getting you a new boat replacement, and now your selling it. Thats OK, once you get used to bolster seats you can never go back.

Ya but I,ll probably have you do some trick stuff to it.

The best speed I have seen out of mine is 65.3 on Gps that is with 2 adults and 2 kids. Stock prop with a 496mag.
