Where Are The New Bajas?

I havent seen any NEW Baja news in awhile, whats going on? I assume they just cant build them fast enough, but I cant seem to find any news other than the dealer meeting and boat show.

My real question though.... Who decided on this windscreen(s)? WTF? Ive looked at it sober. Ive looked at it drunk. I got drunk again and looked at it and still cant figure out why they would change that unless it was just a last minute thing before the boat show so they screwed some plexiglass to the deck to get it out the door. Some change can be good but for gods sake leave the windscreen and bow rail alone!:wuerg019:

Funny!

c_deezy 11-15-2008 01:38 AM

The bow rails were bad enough, that's just pathetic.

BrettM 11-15-2008 11:25 AM

Not sure about that screen either! It was not on any of the boats I saw at Fountain. I have a 30 and a 278 done and sitting at Fountain. We are still waiting to get resonable shipping from NC to NE. Also, the 30 and 278 I bought were already coming down the line and I changed them to my specs. December boats will start poping up all over!

TWIN-SPINS 11-15-2008 02:25 PM

i think its upside down lol

3030hunter 11-15-2008 03:04 PM

Is the 35 ol history? If so what will be available in a 30+ ol? What kind of retail price on the larger ol's? Thanks.

PURPLE HORNET 11-24-2008 12:12 AM

I think it looks good it matches the deck hinges on the outside. Why build new ones when nobody is buying boats right now. Thats only common sense

Thats sweet. Interior is awesome. I see they are using the McCloud bolsters.
Cabin is much nicer than before and they kept the ability to use they couch's as a berth.
Nice job!

XT-Innovator 11-24-2008 02:58 PM

The complaining we did on the 30ol cabin must have worked and they did do a good job on the 35ol cabin cushions with the fillers, BUT CARPET UNDER THE HEAD!!!!! never a good idea. Now if we keep complaining on the bow rail, windscreen, and steering wheel?:evilb:

bowtye8 11-24-2008 04:55 PM

I also like the cabin and Mcleod bolsters!!.

Did they raise the x Dim on all the 35's?

Busta 11-24-2008 04:57 PM

The sunpad cover seems really thin now too. Mine is probably twice as thick. Not sure if that is good or bad. Also, it doesn't look like the headrests provide any air ventilation for the engines anymore.

Wait a minute...I was thinking that was a 30OL but now I'm thinking maybe it's a 26 so my comments above may be a little off.

VtSteve 11-24-2008 05:41 PM

Is there a better or new Baja website than just the old 2008 site?

When early boat builders couldnt figure out why the carpet smelled funny down below, they invented the swimplatform!

Mr. Outlaw

Its nice to see you on the boards here. You know I tried my best to equel out the issues on the other triple rear bench project. I like to say that I get along with both sides of that story. Mark's 36 has been a fun project with a few speed bumps, but nothing we cannot handle. Send us some Baja projects, or something that you need done on that 29ol of yours.

So, back to the original question............

BrettM 12-02-2008 09:23 AM

Still waiting for rides from NC to NE. I have 2 done and one will fininish Mid December. Honestly, I do not need them until our first show Jan. 9-11th, so I haven't been real pushy! Plus its toooo cold to run em!

What are the first 2 models you ordered? Any pics?

BrettM 12-02-2008 03:53 PM

I have a 30 and a 278 ready to ship. The 30 was on the assembly line as we toured the plant a month or so ago. The third done will be a 26, then my last is a 277. I just got the trailers, so if push comes to shove, we will be road tripping to NC.

How much do you pay to tow them up?

BrettM 12-03-2008 08:59 AM

I have the trailers here in NE, so that would be the first hurdle. We were paying in the neighborhood of $2,000-2,500 for (1) 30 Outlaw from OH to NE. Fountain is not far off, but does not have the mobility that Brunswick had.

BrettM 12-12-2008 08:38 AM

OSO, I got all the details worked out with the freight from Fountain to me. Monday afternoon I am unloading 3 of my 4 Baja by Founatins. I will take pictures of the entire porcess and post the details on Monday night! Its going to be a long weekend.....:drink:
